I just need to vent.... I have been trying for the last 2 hours to navigate the ADR online system :scared1:. Most of the time it searches and then I get an error page. UGH!!! It is very frustrating. :headache: I don't remember ever having this much difficulty.

I just needed to get that off my chest. Thanks! :goodvibes

By chance, are you using Firefox? If you upgraded to their newest version, some users reported having trouble with the Disney reservations site....

Yes, I have also had trouble with firefox. When doing anything on the Disney website I have to switch over to Explorer. I have no trouble with Explorer. I used to hate doing anything online b/c I would have to input my password 50 times and even then I would get nowhere. Once I switched browsers the Disney site worked like it should. Hope that helps!

I do all our ADRs over the phone now. It takes me, at most, 30 minutes for a full week of TS reservations and it's so much easier to adjust times and ask questions of the CM as I go. :thumbsup2

I've had a lot of problems using Chrome, but the old Firefox does seem to work well. Good luck.

I just went to add 1 reservation. After clicking the 'Make Reservation' button, I get the message 'Sorry, there was an error when trying to add reservations to your cart. Please try again..'. I tried several times (logged in, not logged in, different days/times/locations). I am using IE8. I then went to my iphone and used the mobile system and I was able to complete the reservation. When I log back into my account using IE, it shows up in my reservations list already.

I've never had an issue. Use IE and it works great. My computer is also quick with no issues. If you have a virus, that you are unaware of, that can slow some programs down, and create other issues.

I think the ADR system works great!!

That's what happened to me a couple days ago for the disboards. Thougt my employer had figured out what I was doing, lol. Then tried Explorer & it worked fine.

It's driving me crazy today, I keep signing in and entering my resort conf # over and over!!

What browser are you using? That's one of the problems I was having w/ Firefox. If that's what you're using, try something else and see if that helps.

Never have had any problems making adrs online..always use IE, it clearly is not the website or the process..its works fine with IE.

I could not use IE9. It kept singing me out as soon as I'd enter my reservation number and search for a restaurant. I had to use Google Chrome.

ETA: Early in 2010 I used IE to make our ADRs for our 9/2010 trip and had no problems. Not sure which version of IE I was using. But IE was a no go this time around.

I was just pointing out that there seemed to be an outage at the time of my post. I have been able to make reservations before and after my post. The beta mobile system is separate and was working at the time. You can never say a website is 'clearly' not the problem.

Today and yesterday on IE I'm not able to do anything...I also had problems when trying to make them at 180 days out.

Sorry, I am no IT person, I just stated my experiences and I have never had any issues with online reservations..even when they were having the huge update. Only way I enter is IE and have heard of some having issues with other methods. that's all. I did not mean to insult your expertise!

The reason why IE tends to work is actually a pretty poor one.

MSIE is a lot more lenient when it comes to coding standards, as such, programmers who specifically develop on it tend to get a bit more careless with their work which leads to stuff not working right on other, higher standards, browsers. In a perfect world, all programmers would be coding to the web standards out there, but we're far from perfect. (I even do it myself). This is why things tend to work in IE that may not in other browsers.

As far as the recent issues, it's certainly something that either changed, or got fixed, with the engine that drives the Mozilla browsers. Right after FF5 was released, it stopped working for FF. It's proven to work with FF3.6 though, which really suggests either a bug in the browser, or non-compliant code on Disney's part.

Just because it works in one browser but not in the other, does not mean there isn't a bug, it just highlights how different browsers read the code differently :)

(Note, this post was meant to simply be informative and simply passing the time, don't read too much into it :))

Frankly I don't think there is an ADR system problem, I think there is a "Disney website is horrifically slow" problem.

That whole website is inconsistent and runs painfully slow, there is no other website out there that runs that poorly on my PC. Just my opinion...

Actually, I've never had a problem with the Disney website. It's a pleasure to use and full of wonderful eye-candy.

But if you want to talk about a painfully unenjoyable and prehistoric website that is slow to load, then I'd have to say it's the DISboards.com. :confused3

To me the Disney website is inconsistent...there are times where it runs ok, and other times where it is super slow. I'm fortunate to own a very nice computer system....most of the time my system crushes anything you throw at it. But despite all the money I have put into my system, the Disney website experience is far from ideal.

I do agree with you about Disboards...there are times where this website is painfully slow to load, but nowhere as painful as Disney.
