I just have to vent! I went to a stampin' up show tonight, and while I like their products was a bit disappointed with the consultant. She demonstrated 3 different projects (2 cards and 1 valentine's card that you can put a sucker in - very cute). Well, I had my DD5 & DS 8 with me (kids were welcome to come to the show) and they wanted to do the projects. My two were not the only kids there, the hostesses DD was there as well as another girl with her mom. The consultant only had enough cardstock cut for the adults that were attending, and even at that did not have enough because several people did not show up. Anyway, I did not mind my kids doing my projects, my DD did one card and my DS did the other, but they both wanted to do the valentine card with the sucker. The consultant seemed put off by this. It just kind of bothered me because if my kids were interested in it and it is something that they could do for their cards, I may have bought the stuff to do them. Anyways, they did both get to do the card because another guest said that my DS could do hers, but I did not spend as much as I was planning on spending because of this attitude.
My questions is....Why is it that some consultants are so cheap with their stock. I mean I can understand if they were using eyelets, brads, ribbon or other embelishments, but this was one peice of 1 1/2 x 2 inch white card stock with a piece of red cardstock a little larger behind it stamped, colored and a whole punched out to hold the sucker. How much could it possibly cost her to cut some extras or be prepared for a larger group considering Guests are always welcome to attend also.
I know that most consultants are not like this, but I have experienced this with other types of shows also.
Thanks for listening!
