Does anyone know how to successfully book a room only reservation thru the WDW website??? I am about to pull my hair out! I have been trying on and off for over 3 weeks.

We don't need tickets, just room accomodations and no matter what criteria I enter, it just loops me right back to page one and wants me to start over.

I know I can call and book but I really wanted to compare rates, ammenities, etc. plus I don't want to spend the long distance $$ to call WDW reservations.

Ok, done whining.

My advice would be to contact someone at Dreams Unlimited, they are the same price as Disney, they can give you various quotes for room only and they are super helpful!!!

My TA is Rhonda, she's fab, super patient (i'm a nighmare when booking trips! :rotfl2: ) and will let you know of any offers, promotions etc too.

If you want to compare amenities etc this website has a huge list for each hotel, has their hotel rates, photos inside each hotel etc www.allearsnet.com.

Feel free to PM me if you want Rhonda's email, good luck!!! :thumbsup2

I just booked a room only ressie the other day. When you are on the home page on the left hand side it gives you a way to check for availability. Just make sure you click room only on the top of that box you put your dates in. Then it will bring up the resorts, you then click on the one you want and the prices will come up. If you use the right hand side drop down menu to change the dates of the search make sure you click room only on the new page it brings up. What are you looking for, maybe I can help find the prices if you are still having trouble. You can do it, no need for a travel agent. You can also check rates on expedia but if you book through them they charge you an extra fee.

Yep, that is what is SUPPOSED to happen but it doesn't - consider yourself VERY luck if it worked for you!! As soon as I click the resort I want (tried 7 different ones) it takes you right back to the begging. I bet I have entered my info close to 200 times in the past 3 weeks.

I emailed the website and was told that they are "aware of the problem and are working on it" and blah, blah, blah.....

Nothing personal against Dreams but I had problems at check-in in the past when my package was booked thru them...may have been the resorts issues but regardless it was very frustrating for me and the party I was traveling with. Trying to avoid that this time around.

Eeoregon, I feel your pain. How does a company as successful as Disney have such a lousey website?! I've had same thing happen to me when I tried to compare rates and countless other "problems" with it. Half the time I can't even get on it because it's down.:furious:

Hi:

It could possibly be a issue with your PC... You may want to consider clearing your cookies, cache and history. Then close your I.E. session and open a new I.E. Session.

Good Luck,

Mark

Why don't you call the 1-800 number, I don't know it off hand but search it on here and you'll be able to find it....

Disney does NOT have 800 numbers. They would go out of business with all of the dumb calls they would get from around the world: "Hi, is Mickey home??" :lmao:

I have 7 months to get a ressie...will hold out and hope they get their CRAPPY website fixed. If not, I will buck up and pay the long distance charges.

And have you ever noticed how often their site is down for maitenance?? UH, what in the heck are they doing during that time?? Apparently they are making it even less efficient!

90% of the time you just get the "We are expericence difficulty with our site Please try again later" message.

I would just book online with Orbitz but I don't want to pay upfront. I like Disney's pay one night deposit and the rest is due just before your trip policy ;)

Perhaps it is your computer, I just tried and the website worked fine for me. By the way there is an 800 number that has been given out here on the DIS. 800-828-0228.

I was having a problem getting a room only rate. I had to get a package quote and then click the open button on the package option and then remove it. That was the only way I could get a room only amount.

And you were able to get all the way to the credit card information page to make payment?

Hmm. I guess it is hit and miss. Their web techies said they are working on the problem so hopefully it will work soon. Thanks!

Eyeoregon, What browser are you using? I use firefox and the reservation site has glitches with FF that it does not have with IE. I usually forget this, encounter them and then remember to open an IE window just for disney.

Another 800 number is 1-877-939-3732.

I have also had trouble with the website this week. I am suppose to be able to pay my balance online, but it says to either call and pay it or pay at check-in. I called Disney and they said I should be able to pay online. I said I know that, but it's NOT working!! Anyway, I am just going to call and pay it.

I can't stand the Disney site. Usually takes forever just to see the quote. We go once a year and get room-only reservations thru DU. I would never do it any other way!

Yes they do darling! (800) 951-3532

I hate the site too - too slow and too pain in the butt-ish. I finally just called and got the one person at WDW who knows what they're talking about!
