DD12 TOT'd with one of her friends. I dropped her off about an hour and a half before the official town TOT hours began. I then ran into Target to get a few items. While I was walking down the isle, a mother and daughter, the girl looked 14/15, were quickly walking up behind me and you can hear them arguing.
From what I heard, it seems mom and dad are divorced and daddy-dearest bought their DD an outfit that mom didn't find age appropriate. The best comment outta mom was "I don't care if Dad and Sue thought you looked cute as could be in fish-nets, a corset and can-can skirt, your not going out in something that you rear end hangs out of. You have five minutes to pick out something that covers yourself or I pick it out or better yet, you can just sit at home this year." As they passed me and rounded the corner and I turned down a different isle, I could hear the dd start to say something about dad being right, you are an...... I thought to myself, if she said what I think she said, and it sure sounded like that was the word coming outta her mouth, she is so lucky that she isn't my DD. DD would have been in a world of hurt, as we would have turned right around and she would have stayed home for the night.
I really hope the girl wasn't saying what I truely think she said. And just as bad, is if dad actually told his dd that her mom would have that reaction to what he bought and made that strongly of a negative remark about mom to their DD. Talk about setting up an arguement between parent and child.
