Just when I think the DIS can't amaze me anymore we hit a new low.... The world should revolve around your child too????

I am now planning to ride it just as a point to drive folks like this poster crazy!:rotfl2:

Me too!:rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2:

:wizard: I just have to say.. wow... I love how this thread is panning out.

   Lets hear it for all the kids at heart out there!!!!!:dance3: :yay: :cheer2:

Some of us aren't lucky enough to have kids. So I shouldn't be allowed to ride Dumbo? Seriously???? I pay for a ticket, I can ride any ride I'm allowed to.

I don't normally ride Dumbo, but I'll be at MK this coming Saturday. I'll take a ride for all of us who are young at heart and have true love for Walt's legacy. So if you see an adult taking up a Dumbo all to herself while laughing and smiling with child-like glee, that'll be me.

ok does anyone remember the "feet in the fountain" thread? this is just totatly reminding me of that thread...................I thought the "feet in the fountain" (say that 5 times) :lmao: thread was the fastest moving thread, but this beats it hands down.

Where did the OP say that people were rude and selfish for riding Dumbo? I didn't read that. I seriously do not get why everyone is overreacting so much! If you want to ride Dumbo and you're an adult go ahead - what's the big deal! The OP never said NOT to! She just said what she thinks about it, and I happen to agree. Relax, it is not a big deal!

Did she come outand say "You are rude and selfish if you ride this ride" in those exact terms? No, but she did imply it several times.

just think people could do what I did -- look around at all the children waiting, see how sloooooowwww the line is moving, and use their common courtesy to give it up for the small ones

I liken it to giving up a seat for an elderly person or pregnant woman. Or holding open the door for anyone

It's about common courtesy and thinking of others. Yes, i'm one of those rare people who think of OTHER people's children, not just mine. You could say the same about holding a door open for someone or giving up your seat on a bus for elderly, small child, etc.
So many people say that Disney makes them feel like a kid again. Well, let's not revert back so far that we forget common courtesy and empathy. And waiting in 100 degree heat for a ride is not a life lesson.

I am the one being selfLESS in suggesting the big adults step aside and let the children (not MY children -- ANY children) ride this CHILDREN'S ride that takes a long time to load and unload

If NOT riding is showing common curtesy, then riding means you are not showing common courtesy and are being rude.

If NOT riding means you are a selfless person then riding means you are selfish.

It was so hot last Saturday that I thought of sticking my whole butt in the danged fountain.

Okay, not really but it was hot!!

If the OP just wants a cookie for being so selfLESS I would be more then happy to give her one. She can find me in the DUMBO line :thumbsup2

Okay, I know I am going to get a lot of flak about this, but I am posting anyway.

Dumbo is a ride that small children LOVE. AND it has one of the longest lines of all rides in the MK (usually). Small children (toddlers, preschoolers) have very few rides just for them that we KNOW will not scare them like dark rides, etc. I really hate seeing adults taking up a Dumbo seat without a kid. I mean, come on. Give this one to the little kids, okay? They have a hard time waiting in line as it is.

Thank you :)

Dumbo is for everyone !! Get there at opening and there is no wait

I'm not talking about banning adults from the parks. No way. I'm just asking people to hang back on Dumbo since it is a slow loading ride and most kids are very excited to ride it -- more so than any other ride. If anyone is that passionate about it of course they can ride it. I'm not suggesting any rule be made against adults riding it. I liken it to giving up a seat for an elderly person or pregnant woman. Or holding open the door for anyone. There are plenty of other rides. Dumbo is just a midway ride - nothing special really except kids love the fact that it is dumbo. Any carnival has this ride -- usually they are airplanes.

Thats exactly why I didn't want to go on it as a small child, it was a simple typical carnival ride. Now that I'm an adult and Dumbo is the picture that shows up on all the commercials, and my Disney Mr. Potato has his own car, I want to ride it... and I do.

How about your family? Do your children really appreciate the history, the iconci imagery? Have they even seen the movie? How about you keep your kids off of it, and leave more room for the adults that want to ride it and can truly appreciate it!

So, in my MK touring plan, should pushing little kids out of the way to get to Dumbo go before or after putting my rear end in the fountain? Would TGM or UG give me better information on this? And should I wear Healies to get to Dumbo faster? Maybe if I rented a wheelchair that I didn't need I can get to the front of the line!

In all seriousness, this thread is absurd. The OP is obviously grumpy about waiting in line. She's entitled to be grumpy. Why let it bother you? It's not like Disney is considering a policy change.

Please let's not bring Grumpy and the Snow White ride into this, or we'll be here all week. :rotfl:

I agree with the OP. It's a kids ride, that lasts just over a minute and it goes round and round. It may be iconic but it's not worth the wait.
