VENT! How many more American Pickers, Restorers, Loggers etc?

My tv has turned against me. It will only play "man" shows anymore. Pawn Stars, American Pickers, Ice Road Truckers, Some kind of logging show and now American Restorers. I cannot begin to convey how much I hate these shows. Everyone and their brother is getting a freaking reality show. What's next? American Mailmen? American Accountants, American Carpet Layers??
Sorry, just had to vent. My apologies if you enjoy these shows, I just don't understand why DH has to watch every single one of them!!!

(he works hard, deserves to watch whatever he wants, I am not disputing that. just had to get this off my chest.)

I'm not a man, but American Pickers, Pawn Stars, and Ice Road Truckers are my favorite shows. DH and I watch them together all the time. Maybe I've been married too long?

I love IRT! I guess thats partially cause I grew up around truckers.

I actually was happy when American Choppers went off the air. Should have known it was too good to be true. Now we have Junior v Senior or whatever. I'm sooooo glad I can watch tv on here. Between football and all his shows, I don't get to watch much. Thankfully he doesn't like the internet!

I'm a girly girl extraordinaire and I watch Pawn Stars with DH. Also watched Ice Road Truckers, Deadliest Catch, Most Dangerous roads....all with DH. Maybe I'm weird. I find them interesting and entertaining.

American Choppers not so much. Those guys were obnoxious. Thankfully DH didn't like them either.

I think Pawn Stars is not only very informative, but also hilarious! Chumlee cracks me up!!!

About the only shows we agree on are Big Bang Theory and House. I'm working on convincing him to watch The Middle. I just recently discovered it myself. Oh, and he said he didn't mind Raising Hope.
Out of all the shows mentioned, I guess I hate Ice Road Truckers the least. It is pretty interesting. I don't know how those guys do it. Talk about living life on the edge!

OMG, sorry, but me and my dh love those shows.

The only show I watch on regular tv channels is The Amazing Race.

My dh watch Fringe-but I've found nothing this season that interest me.

Frankie and Mike-American Pickers-my favorite.

I will support you, I don't like those shows either. And lucky for me DH only watches American Pickers. We both really like Mythbusters.

Mythbusters is another one he loves and I don't. I used to like it, but it's been on so long, I feel like they are really scraping the bottom of the myth barrel.

All I gotta say is thank goodness for DVR or I would never get to watch anything. He usually watches his programs at night and then I will watch the DVR shows the next day.

My FIL actually has worse choices. He watches a show on Animal Planet about people who rescue abused and neglected animals. I literally have to leave the room.That show breaks my heart. And he also watches Mexican wrestling. And no, he doesn't know a word of Spanish. He is just a wrestling fanatic.

I don't like them but my boys love them. Drives me crazy!!

However I did watch IRT when they were in India. Man, I thought ice roads were scary. There is no way I'd drive the roads those truckers had to take in India. 400 foot cliffs with cars and trucks weaving in and out both ways. It was soooo scary!

I think we're just trying to catch up with all the Real Housewives, Desperate Housewives, reality shows like Jon & Kate (now Kate plus too many kids, the Duggars, etc.. A fair balance is not too much to ask for and that works best with two TVs in every house.

Ok, I will fess up to watching Real Housewives (NY,NJ,BH) but I don't like those other shows. But you make a good point. I supposed it's a bit more balanced than I thought. I just don't have control of the remote. We have the nice tv upstairs and the old tv in the basement. It's partially finished, but I won't go down there at night because we get water spiders (they look like crickets to me, and they sure jump like them, but DH says water spiders).
