Just need a place to vent and get some opinions.
Last week one the of the clients of a girl I work with told us her friend is looking to get rid of her dog (purebred 2 year old boxer) because her son is allergic. I immediately thought of my BIL and SIL. They have always owned boxers and one of their boxers recently died from old age. I called my BIL and he was interested in adopting her. Here is the issue, they live in Colorado and will be here this week (driving) and can take the dog back with them. I told the girl at work if they don't find anyone local, to let me know and told her of my BIL. But also explained it was only for this coming week.
Today I asked for a update, it seems one of the girls at work is interested in the dog...sounds good right? Well, this gal is 23, single, lives in a apartment with her mom and plans on leaving the dog in her room all day while she works because her mom doesn't want to deal with it. Huh?
I really don't think she realizes the responsibility of a dog is especially the size of this dog.
I feel so bad for this dog. My BIL works from home, has a 4000sq foot home on 1 acre of property, fenced in and has plenty of money to care for this dog and has owned boxers all his life.
BTW - this girl knows about my BIL because she was there when I told the other girl of my interest.
I just want to know what people are thinking?
