My comforter doubles as my blanket and my bedspread.

Oh, heck, I wasn't calling out you (or C.Ann). I was apologizing to you!THIS--right here--what I am typing now is my FIRST post on this threadI know i have never complained that housekeeping (or mousekeeping--Disney is not the only place I stay though) does not change the top bedding (by whatever name) daily or even between guests. As long as the part which primarily touches me gets changed I don't think twice about it. I also don't think twice about what to call it OR sleeping under it if I am cold. If they do not want me to sleep under it they had better not put it on the bed.
So anyway, having not posted previously in this thread OR complained about top beding not being changed I fail to understand WHY you are calling me out there?![]()

I agree with you - as long as any bedding that touches my body is changed between Guests, I'm fine. Nobody EVER complains about hotel bedding on the Community Board; I just didn't want to start a controversy where this topic belonged... on the Resorts Board![]()
) which is why I am utterly confused

Top sheets? I don't think I could buy one here in Germany if I wanted oneYou certainly will not find one on the bed at any hotel that is not an American chain
or at my house. OP--maybe you could use a more global perscpective on bedding

I have a question then... what is touching you as you sleep? do you use a blanket that you wash regularly? I can't imagine not washing on a regular basis the flat sheet under me and the top sheet over me.
The duvet cover. You wash the fitted sheet and the duvet cover in much the same way that in the USA you wash the fitted sheet and the top sheet. Just a different style of bedding.

this is what I have been doing all day and lovingly thinking of you all
Hey - if you want to call me out or not - over proper names for bedding - I'm good with that..![]()
I even went back and read thinkg "hmm did I totally forget that i had read this and posted on it?" but no I am (thankfully) apparently ever so slightly saner than that as of yet (sanity is sliding away from me fast though
)I wouldn't really care if she called me out, signaled me out, apologized, agreed, whatever it is just confusing me to no end since i had not even posted at allI even went back and read thinkg "hmm did I totally forget that i had read this and posted on it?" but no I am (thankfully) apparently ever so slightly saner than that as of yet (sanity is sliding away from me fast though

You posted in your sleep. It is a magic post that is invisible on your computer (and doesn't leave any tell-tale planks in the posts you do see).![]()
Mystery solved
I have always used a top sheet with everything - blanket, comforter, duvet, bedspread. I like the feel of a thin cotton sheet between me and anything heavier.
. Sorry about that - I was apparently addressing someone else as intelligent as you with a similar posting style
.DItto! my cats hate when theres too many blankets on the bed and I get hot, since they all get balled up in the corner (there sleeping space)My cats don't care what you call it.....as long as they can lay on it![]()
ITA, minus the spose and decoritive pillows since mine just live on the floor anywaysI do not know one single, solitary person who owns a bedspread (or any other piece of bed covering) for the sole purpose of looking at it during the day then tossing it on the floor at night. If there is a bedspread on our bed, we sleep under it.
Only thing that gets tossed on the floor at night is superfluous decorative pillows, random cats, and snoring spouses.![]()

My European mother adopted the use of a top sheet when she got to the US, not just because it was the norm, but because she REALLY hated the hassle of wrestling the duvet in and out of the cover for washing. If you have a larger bed, maneuvering it in flat can be a hassle. I agree with Mom; I keep the top sheet and only change the duvet cover when it is visibly dirty or if I want to change out the color scheme of the room.
