Vent and likely a debate

Personally I would teach my child that using the F word on a bumper sticker is bad, but it's far worse to express that others are unamerican or traitors if they don't support the president. I've seen plenty of stickers like that.
:woohoo: :woohoo: what Cardaway said :woohoo: :woohoo:

Realistically in the world we live in today profanity is relatively minor. I'd much prefer my child be exposed to a bit of profanity as opposed to the much larger danger of the drugs many kids are becoming addicted to these days.

My office mate was reading this thread with me and commented that she saw this bumpersticker:

I'd rather have a president who scre*** his intern, than one that **rewed his country.

Different word, but basically the same meaning. But society deems this word a coupld of levels up on the vulgar scale. (And the bumper sticker is basically the same sentiments - anti-bush). So, just curious, is this word any more acceptable?

Great example. Same message, same meaning, no word filter (screwed).

Did you have the same reaction when bumper stickers appeared in the 90's with the word "Bush" replaced with "Clinton"?
I never once saw an anti-Clinton bumper sticker with the "F" word. Never.

And I never once saw a car with an anti-Clinton sticker with a "Mean People Suck" or other trendy liberal/hippie sticker...

Because it relates to **GASP** sex! ;)

Actually, if you think about it, when a person says "F**k you!" or has a bumper sticker with "F**k (someone)" on it, actual loving sex is the farthest thing from their mind. Usually, when that type of language is used, love is not in the air at all, something more akin to "(Someone) should die" or "I hope that (someone) disappears from the face of the Earth" or "(Someone) doesn't deserve to live", etc.

agnes!

Never said it referred to "actual loving sex"...but the word does refer to a sex act. I didn't qualify the sex act.

Plus, if I told someone to go to hell, that has the exact same meaning as the ones you describe. But somehow, "hell" isn't perceived as quite so bad.

Exactly.

And hmm I have used the word in reference to "loving" sex. ;)

I don't care what your affiliations/opinions are, I don't need to see crude language all over the place.
ITA w/you!!!!!

First of all I didnt say that everyone who swears is classless. I used to work for a hockey team LOL. Not to mention I have been known to swear myself a little too often, its a habit ( for myself personally) I dont like but it is a habit.

What I said was this bumper sticker plastered on your car for all to see is classless.

And again I dont care WHO or WHAT it was about I thought the BUMPER STICKER was in poor taste.

It could have Clinton or anyone else and I would have been just as offended.

Hey I didnt take offense to the " I hate KFC she had written on her car or the any number of drawings she had on the side of her car. Seriously some people should learn to control themselves.

But it's still a great country where someone has the freedom to say or print that and not be hauled off to jail or deported or worse. It may be classless and rude, but it's a right many people have fought and died to protect.

It had some bumper stickers that I dont agree with but hey thats her right to have them. I drew the line though at the one that said, all spelled out, "F" Bush.

Why should MY kids be exposed to that?
Why should I have to explain that to my kids?

I'm not a prude but I dont appreciate that.

For the record I would be just as offended if it said that about anyone or anything regardless of their political affiliations.

I agree 100%, saw one the other day I could not believe It said I have the P***y that's why!!! It should be a crime to have bumper stickers with such things on them. It seems to be women. what are they thinking. :confused3
