Ok, so we were all set to use Carolyn Allen's. Filled out the paper work while we were there 2 weeks ago. We picked out our tux and were told the price was $150. I also recieved a price estimate from Sue for the Shipping and Steaming of the dresses. They also took all of our information down and we thought the only thing we had to do was to send them our measurements!

And now Kathleen (who I did not meet) is emailing us and is basically saying everything I did is invalid! They will be charging us an extra $75-80 to keep the tux one extra morning for the MK Photoshoot- Does this seem right?

It just seems like a con artist trick (sorry that sounds so mean), I felt like everything was all set when we were there and now I'm told oh, no sorry we didn't mean any of that!

Sue and the Gentleman working that day (we can't remember his name) were absolutely wonderful that day when we had our appt. We were told our price, picked our tux, Matt tried on a few samples, I wrote down all the info I had besides the confirmation of our hotel, and even scheduled our fitting session for Saturday morning so that we can have a chance to correct any sizes by Monday.

Has anyone else not worked with Carolyn Allen's and used another tux place and Steaming vendor?

I'm really considering not using them now because of this. What's your thoughts?

:sad2:  :headache: :sad1:

I'm using MW tux, it seems like you are going to be down there in plenty of time to go pick them up in Orlando if you have a rental car. I would totally recommend them because they have been nothing but helpful.

We aren't going to be there in much time before the wedding so we are picking up in the respective towns & they are being picked up from our disney hotel the morning after the wedding. I think the guys are going to have their tux from wed afternoon until sunday. I think you may want to look into them if CA is giving you this much trouble.

Good luck!

Wow - that is really weird! I've never heard of CA charging to keep the tux extra days.

MW tux will also deliver to Disney - call the Winter Garden store: 407-656-7700. You can get measured at your local branch and then have them work with the Winter Garden store on your order. :thumbsup2

what???:scared1:

That is weird CA's is usually very easy to work with and Kathleen was amazing for our wedding. Maybe you should call back and reconfirm?

If not and you are not thrilled then as Carrie mentioned there is also a men's warehouse with similiar service.

I know this reponse from them is completely bizarre, I feel as thought I'm dealing with two different stores.:confused3 It was a completely different experience from when I was at their store. It was actually fun when we were there in person! And sue was sooo sweet! I don't know where this coming from.

I think I'm going to review my notes from when I was there and speak to them about it.

Maybe I will look into Men's warehouse - I thought you had to pick the tuxes up at their store? Plus I've read really bad reviews so that was why I was going with Carolyn Allen's.

Anyone used any other steaming services?

The bad reviews were of After Hours Formalwear, which was bought by MW Tux last winter and had a lot of trouble before MW took over. Now that they are MW Tux, I've heard lots of good reviews. And the woman I spoke to at the Winter Park store seemed like a Disney wedding pro.

...Not to steer you away from CA's. They were also very nice - we just had a better dress-steaming experience with them than we did tux rental.

Definitely call and talk to them again - it might be a mistake!

Oh - and to answer your steaming question, I believe MW tux does gown steaming as well.

Dragging this thread up again to tell you the end result...

I spoke with Keith today and he was so nice & helpful! It sorted everything out for me and we worked it out.

I didn't ask yet about the extra charge for keeping DF's tux, I forgot, but I may have to suck it up and pay for it. I am keeping the tux from Monday - Thursday, so maybe that's why. But they did stick to the prices they quoted me originally so I'm happy.

My advice, always speak to your vendors when you have concerns. Disney, Randy, Carolyn Allens, Ana, have all been great when it has come to fixing problems!
