Veil

if I could change my purchase I would in heart beat! When we bought my dress we bought the veil too and she rang it up for 375!! I almost had a heart attack. I wasn't paying - but I felt horrible my mom paid it and my dress. I got a deal on my dress so I try and think that was DRESS was actually more by taking off like 250 from the veil price and tagging in on to my dress and "PRETENDING" to have paid ony 175 or something for the veil. My head tiara was like 50. CRAZY NESS! I hope my sister can use it in the future.

Good job on the veil search! I am glad you found something you love and a price you felt was fair. It's a good feeling. Good old ebay ! I'm sure the veil will be perfect-- in the pictures it looks lovely.

You will be so excited when you get it in the mail ! :goodvibes

Steph: Are you going to wear the blusher? I think it looks so awesome. I am not wearing a blusher, as it is my second wedding (and I just am only willing to push the envelope just so far :teeth: I already maxed out the etiquette protocol with the ivory lace gown  ) but I do love the look of a bride coming down the aisle with the blusher. So very pretty.

Congrats again!

I am going to wear the veil under my up-do I think. Can you still have a blusher when it is like that or does it look weird?? Also, couldn't the top layer of the veil be used as a blusher?

Steph, I am not sure you can wear the blusher part if you wear it under your updo. (For what it is worth, I also like that look.) Maybe the other ladies on here would be more help with this ? (I have short hair, so I have limited options.) If you wanted to do a blusher (and yes, I think that usually the top layer is the blusher part) perhaps your hairstylist would have some good ideas. You are having a trial, so that will be a great opportunity to try different looks. It may mean a few trials, but it will be worth getting just the look you want. My advice is take your time, and don't settle for what you don't want.

If you can, post some pictures of your trial! We would love to see them!

A lot of brides do use the top layer of the veil as a blusher. If you have a full looking veil, you will lose some of that look if you put the top layer over your face. Thats why some brides add the blusher. Also, the blusher can then just be taken off after the ceremony for pictures, and then later you can take off the veil completely for 3 seperate looks in your gown.

Jen - I bought my shoes from a DSW type of shoe store in TN (we were there for my bachelorette party). I spent $25 on them.... $70 isn't bad at all. Shoes are important for that day. YOu need to make sure your feet don't hurt because heaven knows the bride is constantly on her feet. ;)

As far as the veil goes - I say go check ebay. That's where I bought my tiara for $20. It's beautiful and I couldn't have gotten it for that price at any bridal store....

I agree . . . I'm not a David's fan but I couldn't find shoes anywhere, not even the bridal boutique where I got my gown, so I ended up at David's with MIL and they are gorgeous shoes but they were about $70. That isn't bad for nice shoes, it's what I'd pay at 9West or at a department store, but it's more than I thought I'd have to pay at David's!

http://www.uniquewedding.com/dc79.htm... i just ordered this veil. I know its crazy since i'm having it at Sea Breeze, but i always wanted a long one. I got my tiara for $58 at the store i got my dress.
Wow! That's a beautiful veil! ...and if you're worried about the wind catching your veil, don't be....because some of the best bridal photos that I've seen are when the veil is gently floating behind the bride.....so pretty!

I agree. That's what wedding photos should look like on a beach.

Princess Disney Belle--I love your veil!! I have a suggestion for your long veil during the ceremony if you are afraid it could become too big a distraction during the vows. Have a seamstress or someone that can sew put some small snaps on the edges of the veil and the correct corresponding place on your dress. They can be teeny tiny so no one will notice, and they will mean the veil will stay in place and show off that lovely embroidery on the veil. Then for the pics, unsnap it and get some great veil-in-the-breeze photos!
