I'm making our ADRs for our December trip today. We're trying to go to places we haven't been to before. Dh and Ds are vegetarians. I've always wanted to eat dinner at the LTT in MK, but it's too much money to spend for them to eat Mac and Cheese, mashed potatoes and rolls. I know everyone always says you can talk to the chef and they'll whip up something special, but we haven't always had luck with that.

Have any vegetarians eaten at LTT for the character dinnner? What did you eat?

Same question for Brown Derby. Dh and ds are NOT tofu lovers and the veg dish there seems to be noodles and tofu.

Thanks.

My sister is a vegan and calls a week ahead of every Disney trip, speaks to a chef from every planned restaurant, gives the date and time she will be there, and discusses what she would like to have. The only restaurant she has ever been to that didn't make her a special meal was LTT. The chef on the phone told her she was be happy with the vegetable side dish. Well, she ended up getting a veggie burger immediately afterwards.

Other than that one time, she has gotten a specially prepared meal at every other restaurant and been very happy. The rest of us loved LTT and honestly, now that she has gotten comfortable calling and speaking with the chefs, I don't think that would happen again. When she called LTT it was the first year she was calling to request vegan meals and I think she was a little shy and wouldn't be insistant if they hesitated.

It is easy to substitute ingredients at the restaurants and they are always agreeable. If your DH and DS don't like tofu they can leave that out and add more vegetables that are listed in other dishes that they have on hand, change the sauce, etc.. My mother is extremely picky and always ends up changing the listed dish in some way without any problem.

Have a great time!!!!!!!!!!!!!

No experience with LTT, but I did BD this past January. The veg dish is a BIG noodle/veg bowl with a brothy asian sauce, topped with ONE hunk of tofu that has been breaded in panko and deep fried. In other words, the bulk of the dish is noodles and veggies, with the tofu being completely removable and unnecessary if you don't like it. I DO NOT generally enjoy tofu, but this particular tofu - prepared the way it was - was utterly scrumptious. You could have knocked me over with a feather when I tasted it. The breading was a little sweet and perfectly crisp and delicious. First class YUM. Give it a go!

There was a mushroom-y pasta appetizer too. It was pretty good as well....
