Vegetarianism?

I've always wanted to try a veggie burger just because I imagine they do taste better than regular burgers.
I hate hamburger. I don't eat it unless my parents are like 'This is all I'm making' or it's a President's Choice Angus Burger.

I don't know.. when I say this, I mean what meat is doesn't gross me out. People say 'I don't eat hotdogs because I know what's in them' yeah, I know what's in them but that doesn't upset my appetite. You could be talking about just about anything while I'm eating and my appetite still lives.

I am a vegitarian because I think that it is wrong to be eating them. Right now they could be alive, but no, people ate them. I saw a video on what goes on in a slaughtering house, not pretty. I also don't eat eggs because that could have been a chicken. But no, they destroyed the embryo. If a friend of mine is going to waste meat, I force them to eat it. Don't go around thinking that they just found the animal dead, and then prepared it. They pretty much murder animals...

Correct me if I'm wrong but I thought that the eggs they sell for food weren't fertilized so they couldn't become chickens anyway.

Eggs are chicken periods.
So basically if there's no roosters you don't have any chance of eating a little baby chick.
Might be gross, but it's true, lol.
I still eat them, I guess I'm a softcore vegetarian.

i honestly dont know. lol.
thats what my dad told me, so i believed him :confused3

I'm a vegetarian, and I have been for a few years now!
I will have to agree, Morning Star is sooo good!
Props to you for wanting to try it for a few days!

That's right. A chicken will lay an egg regardless of whether it has been fertilized or not. It's like their period. That's why you can be vegetarian and eat eggs. I just don't like eggs so I don't eat them.

I just want to ask all the vegetarians a question

Why are you a vegetarian?:confused3

I know I was to become more healthy.

It grosses me out. People who don't eat meat generally weigh less. Higher cancer risks are also associated with eating more meat, particularly red meat and smoked meats (ham, bacon, pepperoni, bologna, etc).

I don't want to eat what's leftover from a cow...EVERYTHING that's left over, I don't want to eat their intestines. That's what you get when you eat bologna and most hotdogs.

I also don't feel like I need to eat animals. I can survive without them. I wish I could say I do it for animal rights but it's hard to when I have leather products. I love animals though so I suppose that has something to do with it if you asked me. My main reasons though is I just hate eating meat....it's gross to eat their muscles and organs!

I'm a vegan, and have been for about 14 months now. I was a vegetarian for about 6 months before that. I went vegetarian after seeing videos and reading a lot of information about slaughterhouses.. I couldn't bring myself to support the meat industry. And then the spring after that, the next logical step for me was to cut out eggs and dairy from my diet too. Dairy cows and laying hens are treated just as horribly as the animals slaughtered for meat.

It is hard being a vegan sometimes (I am worried about going to Disney this summer..but I have been planning a lot and there are a surprising amount of restaurants in Disney with vegan options!). But in the end, it's worth it. Better for the animals, better for my body, and better for the environment. Plus, I know how to cook now! :rotfl:

All you vegetarians should be careful about your iron intake. Take supplements if you need to. :)

I probably couldn't become a vegetarian, because I like chicken too much. I can't stand steak or any meat like that, unless it's ground. I can eat things like hamburgers or tacos, but not unless it's ground.

I hate veggies. XD

I know, Im unhealthy haha

I'm the opposite....
Ground meat grosses me out. Like hamburger.. blech, I don't like it much at all.

I have a weird texture issue and the texture of meat grosses me out so I don't eat it. I also don't like the taste of meats and fish.

See, my texture issue is with lettuce. I don't like "rough" foods like lettuce. Then again, a "rough" food I can't stand is well-done steak, and I like steak.

My family was vegan for a while, it was really difficult!
Props to you!

It's a texture thing, lol. Blah, thinking about steak makes me sick a little. It didn't really affect me until my last trip to WDW. I ate at Le Cellier and I have the NewYork strip, ooh it just turned me off so much for some reason. And I loved everything else about the place.

Im eating as much meat as I can right now so I can get sick of it when I am older. One alternative to meat I found is eggplant. I get eggplant parms and it tastes so much like meat but its not. I dont like much vegetables but I love experimenting. When I get older too Im going to have my own little farming area(probably make my backyard into one). I dont really need a backyard because playing in the streets is more fun...lol

See for me, hamburger has this weird gross texture to it. Like I hate how it's ground, and... blech. Steak seems much firmer to me, yummier.

I have issues where I won't eat, celery or onion. I find it a lot in soups and it grosses me out so bad! It's also in chinese chicken fried rice, and I just can't.. the crunch. It's hard for me to eat salsa. It taste so good, but I can't bite it.

To me, steak is TOO firm and stringy and...meaty. Blechh.
