Hello!

i am a new vegetarian and i am going to disney in april and it will be my first trip to disney as a vegetarian..does anyone have any experience being a vegetarian at disney? i looked at the menu for yatchsman's (which we are eating at) and there are no vegetarian option? what do i do? :confused3 any suggestions/advice would be great!

Oh my goodness! That has to be the most helpful reply ever! Good job!

I have been a vegetarian for almost 6 years and have taken a lot of Disney trips in that time. I've never had a problem finding vegetarian options. They usually have at least one menu item you can have, but if you don't see anything, mention it to your waiter. Sometimes they have a separate menu for vegetarians.

You can also mark the "dietary restrictions" box when you make your dining reservations and call about a week ahead to let them know you are a vegetarian. They will make sure to have something on hand so they can whip up something special for you!

Don't worry and have lots of fun!!! And try the Lighthouse Sandwiches at Columbia Harbor House in Magic Kingdom!!!

thank you so much! the menu on wdwinfo does not have the Gnocchi as one of their option, but then i looked at allears.net and they have it on the menu there...thank you so much..i was worried about what i was going to do, and thank you for all the links :thumbsup2

I had a great veggie dinner at the Morrocan restuarant in Epcot.

I'm a vegetarian too and I've had no problem at the Disney restaurants. Most (if not all) have something on the menu, and the food is generally delicious. The best experience I had (as far as once in a lifetime -because of cost!) is at Victoria and Albert's - they did a 7 course vegetarian tasting menu for me (and a regular tasting menu for my husband) and it was the best food ever. But the regular restaurants are all good too.

The only places that are slightly less accommodating are (in my recollection, so I might be wrong with current menu's) some of the restaurants in the Epcot World showcase, like China. And some of the counter service options get repetitive, like veggie burgers, pizza, etc. But generally I'd say eating at Disney as a vegetarian is easier than eating in the "real world." Good luck!

this is probably a stupid question, but at all of the cs places can you get veggie burgers?

Not that I'm aware of, but to be honest, I didn't check more than once or twice. I generally aimed our family to CS eateries which had a great reputation for both vegetarians and meat-eaters, and then went with whatever vegetarian options they had on the menu.
