Vegetarian fares? Best places for maximum selection?

Hi Gang,

A friend of mine is a runner - going down next week for the big Marathon - and was wondering if there was any out-of-the-park restaurants (on property though) that specialized in vegetarian fare - she's not a strict vegan - but is looking for "healthier" foods.

Any good ideas? I mentioned Boma and Jikko's...

Boma is a good one, just about any TS restaurant in the resorts have some healthier choices on the menu but vegan is hard to come by. My sister was surprised at LTT when they offered her the vegetarian meal - I just told them to bring less meat - it was very good!

I am thinking Maya Grill at CSR and Kona at the Poly as well.

A hearty second to Boma (so many vegetarian choices and excellent food) ! Also enjoyed a pasta dish at Whispering Canyon at WL. Lots of veggie choices all around !!

Boma is wonderful. I talked with one of the chefs when we were there and he said something like 70% of the buffet is vegetarian. A lot of people say that California Grill is very veggie friendly. We were there in Sept. and it was a bit of a disappointment (it was much better for veggie's during our 2002 trip). Wolfgang Puck Cafe has some nice vegetarian options...a couple of good appetizers, some pastas, veggie sushi, pizzas. Pretty much any table service Disney restaurant has at least one vegetarian entree and appetizer. If you ask, they might have more choices than are listed on the menu.
