I've been to disney on 4 trips before but only once as a vegetarian though always as a fuss. My family is going in late august and we're bringing my best friend who is also a vegaterian. The last time we went i only found random entres or dinner rolls to eat when dining out and was wondering if anyone knew of some reasonable places to eat. I dont eat meat but dont mind eggs or milk so long as they're in things like bread or cake, not just like a hard boiled egg, ick. I dont eat much so its not a big deal, we'll find somethings to eat, its just ive looked through some books and sites for vegetarian eating in disney and they mostly tell of good places to get tofu and weird food i dont think id ever put in my mouth. So if anyone has any ideas it would be greatly appreciated.
Also we hope to dine with an animator, lunch at cinderellas royal table, dining with shamu at seaworld, was there reasonable food at these places that my friend and i would eat, do you think? and we'd would like to try somewhere exciting at epcot any suggestions would be awesome! Thank you ahead of time, everyone on here is so helpful!!

Coby,
WDW loves to accomodate special dietary needs. If you give them a week's notice, they will even cook with specialty ingredients like tempah or rice milk. That means, of course, that you sort of need to know where and when you are eating each day.

I went last September on mom/daughter trip. It was my first trip there as a vegetarian/almost vegan. I made NO prior arrangements before eating. However, I found the CMs to be very accommodating in most sit-down establishments, even without prior arrangements. These people love to make you happy! My favorite meal was at Le Cellier, a steakhouse in "Canada." They had a shrimp noodle dish (I asked for it sans shrimp), and it was absolutely flavorful and wonderful. The waitress was so helpful about it...she even made my mom a special dessert made from fruit because my mom was staying away from sugar at the time.

There are also a few restaurants that are better known for veggie cuisine...California Grill, Artist Point, Jiko's...

I agree with jordanyosh...check out wdwig.com...they have a few articles about this very subject. They also publish each restaurant's menus! However, don't forget that your nicer establishments will go "off the menu" to make sure you get what you really want.

Hope this helps.
Your fellow vegetarian

You really should have no problem.

We just returned from a 13 day trip & I am a vegeterain myself.
Most places will work with you. The best places was California Grill. The chef made me a 'little bit' of everything & it was GOOD!

I found that even if it isn't on the menu most sit down resraurants do have a veggie burger they can fix for you. I found this out at 50s Prime Time, who only had one meat free item on the menu (stuffed peppers & I can not stand peppers) but the waitress said they have veggie burgers in the back. So if you feel ike a veggie burger.....just ask!!!

All you have to do is ask when you are seated. Like I said most places will work with you. Disney is very wonderful about that.

Sorry I can not help you with Epcot World Showcase, we just mainly snacked when we were there. We really didn't have a 'meal'

Oh, I forgot...at Epcot, if you like Middle Eastern food, try both the formal and casual food at Morocco. I LOVED the Tangerine Cafe veggie plate lunch. It was my best lunch (while Canada was my best dinner).

I am also a picky vegetarian and do not eat a lot of food in general! I found that child's meals at some counter places satisfy me-
Mac n cheese at Tusker House in AK
PB and J at Pinocchio Village Haus in MK
these both come with a chips, a cookie, and drink.
I also like the veggie burgers that you can find at every park at at least one dining establishment.
If you're feeling brave, the Coral Reef at Epcot has a tofu dish with rice and veggies, very yummy! (I promise, the tofu tastes really good, not slimy or anything), plus you need to get your protein somewhere!

Good luck!:D
