We have an adr for 'Ohanas and I do not eat meat. I will go since the others in my party do, and they want to eat here. I hear that Chef TJ made great vegetarian dishes there, but heard he left for the GF. Has anyone recently ordered vegetarian at 'Ohanas? What did they give you?

Thanks

I have never eaten at Ohana, but I just ate at Kona Cafe a few nights ago. I'm also a vegetarian, and my dish was AMAZING! I ordered the pan seared noodles with tofu and vegetables. You could always ask about veg options, but if you like tofu you should definitely ask about this dish from Kona. :thumbsup2

Here's the menu I found on-line:

When we went in January, I don't recall being able to order anything specific. They just brought dishes to the table and asked how much you wanted. There was certainly LOTS of meat

Hi
I ate there when chef TJ was there and it was great. I read on here that the other chefs at Ohana will make the same dish. It was vegetables tempura with rice and crispy noodles. It was delicious. I don't know if the menu has changed recently.

Whenever I've eaten at Ohana, I always call the restaurant directly, just a couple days before the ADR. While I've never been served by Chef TJ (before he left), I've always had fantastic meals.

The last I was there, I was served pita chips with some tasty baba ganoush and hummus as an appetizer. The entree was similar to meals I've seen by Chef TJ - tofu, veggies, and tempura veggies over rice with some sort of sauce. I forget exactly what the sauce was like, it wasn't really spicy but still very flavorful. There is nothing I didn't like about the dish - everything was flavorful, all the ingredients cooked well (particularly the tofu), and the portion was generous.

Of course, this is in addition to the salad, noodles, broccoli, and bread pudding that's served to the table. The veggie option may vary slightly depending on the chef and the night, but you certainly will not go hungry. Enjoy!
