Got quotes for Vegas for next Feb, 1st ever visit.

Looking at the Luxor or for Approx £100 more could get the Treasure Island

or New York New York.

2 adults -over 40! & no kids

Which would you choose & why?

Thanks :cool1: :cool1: :cool1:

Hi :sunny:

The Luxor is nice, and in a good location. I wouldn't spend more to stay at Treasure Island- its a bit further up the stip and not much different in standard to the Luxor. I liked NYNY - great location and its got a dueling piano bar and a great Irish pub called Nine Fine Irishmen who also own Raglan road in WDW. If you have got a good price for Luxor i'd stay there.

:goodvibes

Any other choices?

If the Bellagio was "not much more", then that would be worth it - it blows all the others away (have stayed in Bellagio, Luxor and Vennettian and have been around most of the hotel in Las Vegas). Next time we go back (although have no plans at the moment), would either stay at the Bellagio or the Wynn (was still being built last time I was there - Summer 2004 - but is supposed to be fabulous).

The Luxor is getting quite old now, quite dated and a bit on the more "tacky" side of things. I like visiting there (it is quite unique!), but wouldn't choose to stay there again.

Haven't stayed at NYNY. It is a must to go and visit, but I find the theming a bit dark and claustraphobic: very clever, but wouldn't like to stay there (haven't seen the rooms).

Don't know much about Treasure Island.

Go to the hotels' websites and see which one yoou like the rooms and theming of most (I would expect them all to have virtual tours).

The Luxor looked nice back in July and the Mandalay Bay has a fab water park for its guests. I would stick to that end and maybe the middle but no further up. The Bellagio is just fab and the water shows out the front are not to be missed. The NYNY hotel looks very nice as well, great theming.

Totally loved the Luxor, NYNY and the Excalibur - all totally different and yes very tacky places (but good tacky!) of course they don't match up to the ventian or the bellagio but the extra $$$ means more shopping in Jimmy Choo

We stayed in the Bellagio last month ~ Fantasic hotel :thumbsup2

Still no wedding photos?

Bellagio is gorgeous, I agree. Very classy: love the reception, the conservatory, great restaurants, liked the champagne brunch buffet, really nice pool area... rooms and bathrooms are gorgeous.

*sigh*

Not yet ~ They did say that it would be several weeks :confused3

It's odd in this digital age... would have thought that they would have them all printed and ready before you checked-out.

You must be frustrated - I bet that everyone keeps asking to see them (family, colleagues, friends etc).

I have a bad history of taking ages with piccies. Think everyone is used to me by now ;)

Another vote for the Luxor, try standing in the middle of the lobby and look up, the way the walls are sloping in will make you feel a little funny :teeth: I also stayed at the Stratosphere Tower and while nice it is right at the other end of the strip. Incredible views though,

I've stayed at Luxor and enjoyed it, but I would much prefer the location of TI - centre strip.

This year's Unofficial Guide to Las Vegas rates Luxor as 3.5 star with a room rating (out of 100) of 82, and TI as 4 star with a room rating of 84.

I have stayed at the New York New York and the Venetian and loved them both (especially the Venetian, although the free upgrade to the high roller suite helped even though we are certainly not high rollers!!) When we next go to Vegas we plan to stay at the Bellagio as I love the hotel and it's location. We have been in all the hotels on the strip and I have to say that I didn't like the Luxor too much (just didn't like the layout, looking up from the lobby was just wierd!) I quite liked the Paris hotel as it was nicely themed and it also had a good location.

Which hotel at the Mandalay Bay did you do - there are 3:
- the Mandalay Bay - http://www.mandalaybay.com/
- "THE Hotel" (at the Mandalay Bay) - http://www.thehotelatmandalaybay.com/
- The Four Seasons (at the Mandalay Bay) - http://www.fourseasons.com/lasvegas/

It all gets a bit confusing there!
