Can anyone recommend a good movies set in Las Vegas. I’m so excited about my Anniversary trip, I thought a movie incorporating Vegas may do the trick to keep me going just a few more days…. well 40!! I’ve already got Oceans 11 on DVD so I’m looking for something different, old or new, comedy or thriller I don’t mind.

Can anyone think of any?

Thanks

Emma

Honeymoon in Vegas.. its a Nicolas Cage, and Sarah Jessica Parker movie, cute...

Parts of the Godfather is set in Vegas. (Part One)

One of the first James Bond movies, one with Sean Connery is in Vegas (Ok Bond nuts, which one is it.. they have interior shots of Circus, Circus, Fremont Street, and older town shots)

Leaving Las Vegas, yet another Nicolas Cage movie.. this is the depressing part of Vegas...

Diamonds Are Forever is the James Bond movie. It is Vegas in the early 70's.

Casino is with Robert Deniro, Sharon Stone and Joe Pesci. Needless to say, it is a movie with some violence.

There is another movie with Robert Deniro and Al Pacino but I can't remember the name. Edited to add that this one was not in Las Vegas.

PixiePower happy anniversary:p :p DH and I are leaving in 18 days for our 7th anniversary (which seems like 100);) I don't know of any vegas movies but I can tell you from experience that you will have a great time. There are soo many attractions for couples such as the Gondola at the Venetian Very Very Romantic. I am going to surpise hubby with a wedding cake for 2 while. I forget the name of the restaurant in the Venetian but they are going to prepare the cake for me. oohhhh Get 3000 Miles To Graceland very good movie and funny also. I really hope you and your hubby have a wonderful time there. I can't wait to get back. We do Vegas each Year but decided to skip because we just did WDW with the kids in July. As you can see I could not resist so a change of mind sent me to the travel agency and to the airport today because we added on an extra day  DH fault :bounce: :bounce: Any other questions Ill be happy to answer if I can. IIII loveeeeeeeeee vegassssssssss;) ;)

Thanks everyone.

PRINCESS Ariel34, i got married in vegas last year and whilst we were there we did the Gondola ride at the Venetian, so lovely. We are planning to eat a Mon Ami Gabi on the 'actual' day, have you eaten there? What do you think of it? We are staying for 4 nights at the venetain and then 4 nights at the Bellagio, all great email offers. We are also planning on going back to Harah's improv comedy club as we loved this last year. Weve heard that the beast buffet for breakfast is at paris and dinner the bellagio - what do you think? Sorry to throw all these q's at you :) We also fancy trying the rock lobster- any views on that and oh where is the voodoo lounge as it sounds pretty cool.

Thanks and sorry agin, so many q's

Emma

Ocean's Eleven (the new good version, not the old boring version) is set almost entirely in Vegas. This is a fun film.

Ugh, I just thought of another one. Showgirls.

It got panned by the critics but if you like T & A.... ;)

The Voodoo lounge is in Rio's which is really nice. The restaurants your mentioned earlier I have not tried them. We did the buffets at Excalibur, MGM, Ballys, Stardust:( ,Riviera:( :( :( ,Ceasars, Rio's, New York New York all except those you mentioned (sorry) We have been so many times Pixie the only time we really sat down and ate at an exclusive restaurant was in New York New York and that was at Gallaghers (I think thats the name) steak house which chared the steaks (did not like at all but hubby loved it) There are others but I can't remember off the top of my head. We also did Tony Roma's, and a Japanese Restaurant in MGM Grand which was really good. I hear RoseWood is good also. I tend to get alittle queasy around seafood when in Vegas because, about 2 years ago we ate at the Seafood Buffet Rio's. I have never eaten that many Lobster Tails and crab legs in my life. To top it off like a Ninny I ordered the huge margarita in the Rio marg Glass:( I was sooo sick. Hubby thought I was crazy. I only sipped it to the top of the R in Rio  That was more than enough. I wish I could have been more help on the other questions. I guess Dh and I are so set in a routine. ONe thing we definitely do is check out the Jazz shows and we often travel to the Dam and Laughlin. I do steer clear of the Helicopter Rides. We were there the year the family of 7 o 8 from New York were killed. I will definitely try the buffet at Paris. I personally think that Rio's is fantastic :p Not only do I love the food I love their Keno. ONe year hubby and I had sat down for breakast at the Rio Buffet and I picked up a keno card, marked some numbers paid the keno lady and went to the line to get my food. When she came back around a couple of minutes later, she was walking towards me with this bigg smile on her face. When she made it to my table she shouted YOU JUST WON 2000.00 DOLLARS GIRL:Pinkbounc :Pinkbounc :Pinkbounc I was soooo happy.

I like Vegas movies also, I think a lot of people do cause there seems to be a lot more of them, I like Viva Las Vegas the old Elvis movie

The Only Game in Town
Corvette Summer
Rain Man
Honey I Blue Up the Kid
Mars Attacks!
Miss Congeniality 2: Armed and Fabulous

The buffet st the Rio is very good as well. We have done the the expensive ones and are very good. The wicked spoon in the Cosmopolitan. The Earls Sandwich is in PlanetHollywood. So much sightseeing in hotels. I love the M&M store and Coca Cola store.

I don't know any movies with Las Vegas. I can't wait to go back to Vegas. Pawn Stars is fun to see just do it after 3 as the line is to long while filming in the day.

The Hangover

Also, if you have Netflix there is one called "Best Night Ever"... yea it is kind of dumb, but it is funny.

The new Mall Cop 2 is filmed in Las Vegas - I think it comes to theatres this Friday. :)
That is one we plan on going to see!

I'm going there for an anniversary trip too - 20 years!!
I've never been before and I can hardly wait.
Have fun on your trip and happy anniversary!!

Oh...and I like Vegas Vacation and Oceans 11 :thumbsup2

No movie advice but I recommend you find the "hidden pizza place" at the Cosmo. Best pizza ever. It isn't on any directories at the cosmo either.

Forgot about Mars Attacks!

I don't recall if they actually filmed at Luxor, but part of the movie is set there. The destruction The Landmark Hotel and Casino was used for the movie. Apparently they left the lights wired and did it at night specifically for the movie. They also fired some pyrotechnics at the base of the building to simulate the effect of Martian weapons taking it out at the base.
