Vegas: Love it, Hate it, never been, never going?

I love Vegas as there is so much to do there. I don't really gamble, just play a few slots as we look around the hotel. I love just looking at the theaming of the hotels, going on helicopter flights to the Grand Canyon, seeing the shows, going to the indoor skydive centre, riding the coasters. With all this to do there isn't much time to gamble. We went 2 years ago and stayed at the Venetian (we got a free up grade to a high rollers suite!!) and at teh New York New York. Next time we go (and we do plan to go again) I would like to stay in the Bellagios.

I absolutely love Vegas. Unlike others who've posted here, I LOVE the heat--such a nice, dry heat!! It makes sitting out by or in the pool a fantastic experience. I just got back from a week there, and miss the climate already. The humidity was consistently 13% or less the entire time we were there--a nice break from the 90%+ that's been in New England all month!

I also love the themed resorts and all the lights and such. I took a tour of the Neon Boneyard (recently featured on an episode of CSI) where the old signs are "retired". That was fascinating.

I am also a gambler, I love to play poker (and video poker) but really, that isn't a reason for me to go to Vegas--I can gamble here in New England or even on my computer if I really want to. There is just something about Vegas that I love.....I find it relaxing (because I have no responsibilities while I'm there) yet fast-paced if I want some excitement.

*sigh* I wish I could be in a pool in Vegas right now!!

One thing that is really odd to me is how many people seem to equate Vegas with drinking alcohol. I don't drink a lot, in fact, hardly drink at all.....on this last trip there, the only alcohol I consumed was a single glass of wine with my prime rib dinner at Lawry's Prime Rib. I drink water the rest of the time (but still tip the cocktail waitress for it, of course!)

I have never been - but I am looking forward to going someday.

I must say though, I feel as if I have been there because I have watched so many shows about it on the travel channel.

I didn't vote because none of the choices were right for me. We went to Vegas in June for the 1st time. It was a family reunion to celebrate my mom's 75th b'day (she LOVES Vegas). I enjoyed it but I'm in no rush to go back.

We love it, and we don't even gamble much. (maybe the .05 slots)
There is so much to see and do there other than drink and gamble, but some people don't take the time to see that.

We generally walk around to all the casinos, take in the sights, see some shows, and do some shopping. It's a nice relaxing vacation for us. We sit by the pool, wander around, etc. We don't even drink!

So I think it all depends on the way you look at it and what you go there for. I know we try to go at least once a year!
