Myself and my 16 year old daughter loved Vegas and had a great time. Clearly she is not a drinker/gambler and neither am I. Vegas is great if you appreciate it for what it is - tacky, outrageous and over the top. There is a lot to do and a lot to see. And eat!
We drove LA-Vegas and back and the drive is very easy. Each way we departed at 6am, with a piece of fruit or granola bar, and then stopped for breakfast halfway at Peggy Sue's Diner in Yermo. It worked great for avoiding traffic (we traveled MLK weekend, Fri-Mon) and it was very enjoyable and stress free. I would do it exactly the same way again.
