My husband's doctor put him on a vegan (with occaisional fish) diet and I'm struggling with epcot restaurant choices. I have ADR's at Coral Reef for lunch and Teppan Edo for dinner, but I haven't heard great things about either. I can't get into Le Cellier. I will also have DS3 with us. Any suggestions?

Teppan Edo is very good, but is pretty much the typical Japanese steakhouse. It sounds like a good option for your husband since he could have a veggie stirfry, and your son will like the show.
I looked at the menus, and Le Chefs de France had a decent looking vegetarian option as well as Nine Dragons which had a veggie/tofu stirfry. Marrakesh had meat on everything, and Tutto Italia has at least cream and cheese on the non meat items.

i cant speak about coral reef, as i havent eaten there in years, but i can tell you a bit about teppan edo. im a pescetarian, which means i dont eat any other meat besides seafood. when i went there with my family a couple months ago, i requested my food be cooked seperately from the other meats so as to not get beef or chicken on my food. the waitress and even some kind of lady that looked to be in charge asked me many times how i wanted my food prepared and if it was fine that mine be prepared before the rest of the meals. keep in mind that while the grill is scraped after each "show" it is not exactly cleaned, so there will be minimal remnants of what was cooked previously. i think, in your situation, teppan edo is the way to go!

Your DH would likely be able to have sushi, if he doesn't mind the prospect of raw fish. You can get sushi at the Kona Cafe in the Poly. There's also a nearby sushi stand. The Cali Grill has sushi as well.

I would change Teppan Edo to Toykyo Dining which is right next door - check out their menu and he may have more choices there.

Teppan Edo is fine. They do cook the meat in front of you, but they cook the veggie items first. If you have serious allergies, they'll even cook yours in a separate area in the back.

Hmmmm, i'll have to ask him how he feels about the beef and chicken "remnants". That might bother him. Maybe Tokyo Dining is the way to go! Not much of a "show" I suppose, but he loves sushi and my DS loves rice, veggies and the carrot Ginger dressing on the salad.

I've never heard the term pescetarian! I guess that is what my DH is, too!

I'm vegan and planning on eating at the Mexican restaurant! La Hacienda de San Angel is what I think it's called. I also have reservations to Tokyo (and possibly Teppan Edo as well?).

When you make your reservations, note that one of your party is strictly vegan. The chef will come out and talk to you before the meal. They will accomodate your husbands restrictions with no problem. :thumbsup2

Marakesh has a vegetable cous-cous which is delicous and filing. They also have the typical kids meals available for your son. Most Disney rest., upon request, would make your husband a vegetable plate, an all vegi stir fry etc.. All or most have pasta dishes without meat, Via Napoli has no meat pizza's and pastas. Tokyo Dining uses funky chicken parts, and I personally won't eat there again but they most certainly have vegetarian fare.

The Vegetable Couscous at Marrakesh was VERY good! I dont know if its vegan, should be but ask.

Do a search on the dining reviews thread. There were some very helpful vegan reviews that included pictures.

my mom is a vegetarian that eats fish too. dont let garden grill fool you. they put bacon in their salad! we were like can we get veggies without meat? they had a vegetarian option and a fish option but not much for veggies. she did like via napoli, she had pizza but i did have a wonderful minestrone soup that was all veggie and they do have lots of pasta options, a veggie lasagne at chefs de france, and we really like sunshine seasons, they had a salmon with veggie salad dish. does he eat cheese? see she eats dairy so she had more options. i havent eaten in those places so i cant give advice on them.
