I am only visiting Disney World for 2 days (staying at an off-site hotel). We'll be going to Epcot for one day and the Magic Kingdom for another day. When I was vegetarian, I remember eating A LOT of veggie burgers in Disney. Now that I'm vegan, I'm wondering if anyone knows if the veggie burgers served at Disney are vegan (no dairy, no eggs). Also, I have read great things about Boma. Am I able to have dinner without getting into the Animal Kingdom?

Boma is at the Animal Kingdom Resort, not the park, so you do not need park admission to eat there.

I got the "special diets" list from WDW because of my DD's dairy allergy, and according to that document, the veggie burgers are the Boca Vegan Burger.

Have fun!

Yes, the veggie burgers are vegan Boca burgers. But there are other options for vegans, of course. Here's a helpful link regarding counter service in the parks and mentions how some vegetarian things can be made vegan: http://allears.net/din/vegcsparks.htm

And Mary976 is correct, Boma is in the Animal Kingdom Lodge, no park admission required. Make sure you tell them you're a vegan so they can walk you through the buffet and let you know what has dairy or eggs in it. :thumbsup2

I agree with Laura, tell them at Boma. We did and chef TJ asked what type of vegetarian we were, explain all the buffet to me and was ready to explain again to my husband (he decline) and 20 min later he came back with a wonderful vegetarian dish, some tofu, noodles, veggies. I hope he will be there when you go, he is a really nice chef!

I ate at Cosmic Ray's last Friday (Dec. 12) and the veggie burger I got there was most definitely not a vegan Boca Burger. I have been a vegetarian for 18 years and have eaten a lot of veggie burgers, and this one did not look familiar. It was made out of rice and vegetables. When I ate at Cosmic Ray's in October I did get a Boca Burger. I don't know if this is a temporary change, or if it is limited to Cosmic Rays, but you may want to ask before ordering a veggie burger.
