Vegan food options at Blizzard Beach? Anyone?

Hi all! I'm going to Disney for a week in August and have most of my dining plans mapped out and some ADR's. Just trying to figure out if anyone that is Vegan has had any good experiences with Blizzard Beach restaurants?

We are also doing a day at universal, so curious about Vegan lunch there? We don't want to have any other meals there because we will be on the DDP and we'll be back for dinner. Mainly going because my son is a Spiderman Fanatic!

I think I ended up eating salad and french fries there. I didn't find many options. If you can, I'd suggest bringing in your own food.

It's disappointing because most of the table service restaurants are so good for vegans!

There's a Universal board - you may want to post over there to ask about Universal restaurants.

I have a friend who is vegan and she does OK with some of the CS but she has never gone to Blizzard Beach to my knowledge. So I have heard nothing about whether they have vegan choices there. CS are more difficult than the TS because most if not all the time they can't cook something special for you.

I don't know about vegan options at Blizzard Beach, but for a vegan lunch when visiting Universal, I'd suggest ducking out of the parks and heading over to The Kitchen at the Hard Rock Hotel. They were very accomodating for my vegan friend and it helped that they were not at all busy.

I know there are some vegan options at IOA/US - but not as much as Disney. I know that there is a Moe's right outside IOA in the Citywalk area. Moe's is great for offering vegan options. This is where I plan on eating when we are at IOA for lunches. I know there is a restaurant at IOA that has some vegan side dishes. I think it's the one that is near

Take a look at the Tower of Vegan review thread. Plasticletters last post mentions some ideas at US/IOA if I'm not mistaken. If not, he kindly offered to have me PM him for recommendations.

I know that when I was looking at vegan or even vegetarian options at the Disney waterparks, there were not any tasty options. My idea of lunch and dinner is not just a plain salad. I want something that feels like I'm eating a meal.

I'm not vegan (I'm vegetarian), but I know that I got a veggie burger the last time I went to Blizzard Beach (in May '09). I think at Lottawatta Lodge? It wasn't on the menu - you have to ask for it. It was the same vegan Gardenburger patty that they serve in the park - I think you just need to ask for a gluten-free bun to make it vegan (which I would imagine they would have on hand). Thanks for all of the help everyone! We actually decided not to go to blizzard beach, DS is 3 and we think he'll have just as much fun at the Pool at our Resort.

We are going to the character breakfast at Confisco Grille in IOA. I told them about my 'Allergies' when I did the reservations, so we'll see. I'm prob going to end up paying for a fruit breakfast for myself.

We'll probably leave the park early, afterall we are going mainly for Spiderman.

That way we can just grab something small for lunch and go back to Disney for a large yummy vegan DDP meal!

We went to Universal in April of this year. We ate at Mythos for lunch. They offered us two options-- a pasta dish and a thai noodle dish. The rosemary bread they bring for the table is vegan too. We were happy with our meal. Islands of Adventure was a different story. No vegan counter service meals were offered. We ate at an Irish pub type place (I can't remember the name) It was terrible. The waitress and chef could not have been less helpful. When we were seated our waitress said there was nothing vegan and that she did not think they could make anything. The chef had pretty much the same attitude, however, when we suggested fruit and a gardenburger the chef went and checked and said the gardenburger was vegan but the bun was not. We had fruit and vegan gardenburgers without a bun. We will definitely be trying something outside of the parks when we go back in September.
