Hi Folks - looking for your advice again,

We were going to pre-book the VEA shuttlebus from CDG airport but we've noticed some people commenting that they normally just "walk on" the coach. Is this the best company to arrange your transfers through and should we pre-book it.
There will be three adults and 1 child and I don't know if a taxi/private transfer would be better value?

Hi

I have used the VEA Shuttle three out of the four times I have been to disneyland from CDG. We have had one excellent journey - bus waiting outside terminal no problems straight to hotel. One OK - Bus waiting outside terminal got on then went to another terminals for pick ups and it added an hour onto the 40 mins normal journey, the kids were fed up after travelling for most of the day already. The last one terrible - We had pre-booked vouchers and waited 2 hours at terminal it was december and kids were freezing and fed up. We even considered jumping in a few taxis, if we never had pre-paided vouchers we would of because a lot of taxis take you for the same price of the VEA anyway. This time we are thing of booking a private taxi. Sorry its a bit negative but its my experiences with them. A lot of people find them Ok.

There's really no point in pre-booking as if there's a big queue it won't guarantee you a seat on the next bus. All it means is that you won't have to pay as you get on.

For a party of 4, you could well find that the price of a private shuttle for you is the same, or even cheaper, than the VEA. Its quicker and more convenient than the VEA, although in my usual party of 2, I do usually get the VEA, just pay as I get on the bus, and have had no problems at all, in either direction, with the VEA.

In our Very Useful Information thread, in "getting to DLRP by plane", we have links to various private shuttle companies who travel between CDG and DLRP :).

We've used the VEA bus on everyone of our visits, prepay doesn't really give you anything extra apart from not needing to pay on entering the bus. It doesn't get you on first or priority seating.
This time round after an awful experience last year (being turned away from two buses that turned up because they were full and they were letting others on that needed to pay) we are booking a private shuttle for the 4 of us.

Thanks for your replies, it really helps when somebody has had previous experience! I had a look at some of the websites for the private shuttle and was a bit concerned that they only allowed 1 hours grace for late flights.

We're travelling from Edinburgh with Air France and don't anticipate any delays, fingers crossed, but you can never tell. If we're more than an hour late then the company cannot guarantee to take us and I don't want to spend approx EUR90.00 for nothing!!

Has anyone every gone by TGV train - it looks as if it only takes 10 minutes or so.

To be honest, I've never even considered that we'd be over an hour late arriving at CDG :confused3. I know another member here, through no fault of her own, was a day late in arriving at CDG, she just contacted RS transport as soon as she knew about the delay, and they picked her up no problem at all when she eventually arrived.

The TGV actual journey is only 10 minutes, but there can be disadvantages - you need to get from your arrival terminal to the train station at CDG in terminal 2, it may be more expensive than the VEA or a private shuttle, as the TGV has peak and off-peak prices, and the TGV may not be frequent enough at the time of day you are arriving at CDG, which may mean you hanging around the airport for up to an hour to catch your train. There are also terms and conditions when buying your ticket for the TGV, which may make that option not as flexible as you'd like.

The TGV train timetable, and prices, can be found in our very useful information thread also (still in "travelling to DLRP by plane").

I am taking the TGV to DLRP this time (I usually only do the return journey, which is easy, and gives me more time in the parks over a private transfer or the VEA). However, there are only 2 in our party, and only hand luggage.

We had booked RS transports in November and due to flight changes due to a strike ended up getting a much earlier flight (morning instead of evening) - we phoned RS to change the time and there was no problem with it at all.
For the return journey we phoned them and asked them to collect us earlier than arranged (again due to strike chaos) and again they did it with no problem.

We used them again for our trip at Easter and again we were happy with them

hiya

just to add we use www.isprestige.com and found them fab!! i dropped my phone battery under the seat (dont ask) anyway forgot about it when i got to disney and only rem that night so rang them up and they dropped it out to the hotel first thing the nxt morn. very helpful drivers.

We were also 3 adults and 1 child and it was cheaper for us to book a shared shuttle with RS transports than the VEA.
When we were first delayed at the airport I telephoned them and they were fine about it, just told me to ring back when we knew we were definately departing, then when our flight was eventualy cancelled I rang again and explained and then they rang me later in the evening to see what the alternative arrangements were.
When we arrived I couldn't see the driver, but then I hadn't thought to ask what gate number, I rang them again we were told to stay put and the driver appeared within minutes.

I couldn't fault them at all and they charged the same as the original quote, although I did give the driver a large tip as I was so grateful to them, incidently although we paid for a shared shuttle, we didn't share either way :goodvibes

Hello Daiseyirl...

Saw your note/post about using isprestige.com for getting to and from CDG airport to Disneyland Paris....

Are they really good and reliable and you would recomend them over the disney run VEA shuttle?

thx Jeffrey

Has anyone ever used the TGV Bullet 180mph speed train that goes from Disney Paris at the Marne La Vallee Chessy directly to Charles De Gaulle CDG?

This looks like the best and fastest option at 12mins to and from....Little pricier than isprestige.com but when you factor in a tip it probably comes very close in about 1/10th the time....

yes, the TGV is a great service from Marne la Vallee Chessy, it really is the quickest way back to CDG airport on your last day at DLP, if the train times suit your flight departure times etc :). Its not delay-proof though unfortunately - we had booked the TGV for our trip last year for that journey, and it was delayed by an hour because a freight train had broken down on the tracks before Marne la Vallee.
