May be dumb question but any idea when direct members will be able to book VDH as a non home resort?

July 27. All reservations will be subject to normal 7 month window. As of 7/27, non-owners can book any arrival dates through February 27, 2024

Be aware, if not already, that booking VDH with points will not be a money-free transaction. Every member who stays at VDH with points will pay Anaheim transient taxes of $2.73 per point that is used for the reservation. Get a 2BR in the fall for a week and you will pay close to $1,200 in taxes; splurge and get a GV for a week in the fall and the tax will be a little over $2,500.

It’s actually 2.73/pp 😭 I believe it’s 2.82/pp in 2024.

So between maintenance fees and the transient tax it will cost upwards of $11-12/pp to stay there “for free” - with an expensive points chart to boot. That seems crazy for me! Sure makes the legacy points charts at BC/BW look attractive for access that is arguably just as good (in Florida), even if they are 2042 resorts.

Ahh yes - we are aware. Would never do more than a studio for a few days.. If not available we will stay in Florida where we happily live :)
