VDH Questions for Purchasing

There is also plenty of seating on the terrace of Starview Station Lounge. Even though I have MMB, there was a wait for indoor seating, and I had lunch with me, so I had a lovely lunch on the terrace just over a week ago. And I love getting free cokes in the lounge. :)

Yes they told us about this! We always prefer the nice chairs inside, by this i mean no plastic chairs or high tops because they do have those in there, but I appreciate that they ask us if this is okay and we always say we will wait for the lower chairs.

We did get greedy and ask if they would change the dvc trivia tv to the super bowl 🏈, but they are only allowed to play dvc stuff 🤣

I just met with a guide in Aulani, and I'm giving it a shot of buying VDH. I'm curious if the incentives will be better tomorrow, but at least I'm locked into today's deal. Also, there is a $1000 incentive when purchasing while on vacation in Aulani.
On top of all the other incentives like d23 and disneyland 70th??

The front desk at vdh is officially super annoying to me. The lack of training and professionalism compared to the CM's in the Fantasy Tower is painfully obvious, you would think they would be top notch to sell more points.

They once again do not know how to process a simple gift card and they do not know where their limited time merchandise is and are super unhelpful about delivery options. When walking over to the Fantasy Tower you would get much more professional service, correct information, and an offer to deliver.

I mentioned this in the survey because I think its easy fixes and ridiculous that CM's dont know how to process an acceptable method of payment. "I just started my work shift" is not a valid excuse and certainly something i wouldnt expect to hear at the Fantasy tower.

I also think someone should be in the building at all times whether it be front desk or security. At night there is no one there, ever.

Unrelated, but the breakfast at the Coffee house quick service is disgusting. Tried the breakfast sandwich and burrito and threw them both away. Obvious that the eggs are powder. This is a beautiful, historic resort and they need to do better in these regards.

I hate to complain, but we are paying tot and dues higher than vgc and we are not getting the same customer service on the cash side or at vgc or the same quality. I am sending these concerns to the gm.

Obviously still love the resort and no regrets on my purchase, but they need to know what owners concerns are. If this was my first stay i probably wouldnt have purchased here.

Yeah there is, we bought 150 DLH and 100 Poly direct when on vacation over new years there. Saving an extra $1000 on DLH and $500 on Poly put us over the top on top of the D23 and 70th incentives, etc. Have to be staying on property when signing and the promotion ends today. We now have to sell 150 Poly in a different use year but we will not match our use year on that and have 375 points at Poly (100 direct) and 456 at DLH all direct.

Man, def a good way to sell more points while people are all happy in Hawaii!

Oh it worked on us. We wouldn’t have bought without the extra incentive. Poly the extra $5 per point along with the impending $8 price increase and the fact that we really wanted to match our Feb use year and having decide that we only wanted 100 points there when selling the 150 Dec contract. It also allows us to occasionally have some cabin points out of those 100. The Disneyland is a straight add on for near what it was when we bought 306 in the spring Sale last year that was good for larger point buys. We decided we wanted more direct for a 2 bedroom summer week and to use as direct sleep around for Lakeshore. We wouldn’t have bought DLH with only the $3 price increase without that $1000. It was just enough to push us over, lol.

With an extra 1k I would have gone poly most likely. The poly incentives are so weak that I would have seen that as my chance. Now ill most likely get poly thru resale.

No regrets on my vdh purchase and happy that imo the incentives are pretty strong there however.

But im with you I would have bought with no question, well I did without that boost 😅

No regrets purchasing MMB anymore. The starview station lounge was packed today. Beautiful sunny day, so this seems like a preview of what the summer time will be like.

Less than 5 minute wait for us when there was 8 parties ahead of us. We love the lounge, its a great refresher to go on rides then relax there and then go again with coffees in hand! Loving being direct so much more.

I am so excited for the incentives to come out tomorrow. I dont think the ones for 200 were very enticing at vdh and perhaps they will be more this time around. All 450 points I have access to for vdh are already booked into reservations 🤣🤣

I know we would easily use the 200 points annually. Having all this resale wont do for that as it doesnt work there.

I was looking into resale vdh but it just seems like theres no point with how close it is to direct. I wouldnt mind resale there because I see our pattern of going every month. We already went this month and im trying to get end of this month again so we can go to a Ducks game 🤣 the extra 50 points would get us stays for the holidays this year.

We haven't purchased MMB this year since we just have 1 Disney trip planned (DLR in June.) Here's hoping we can get into the lounge quickly without it.

Any idea if the outside tables every have a long wait without MMB?

Also, I wonder if there will be tables in the shade like this around lunchtime in June or not. We are hoping to bring our Pizza Port food up here. I like sitting outside but not in the sun.

It was $1000 if you bought 150 but our justification was just needing 100 at Poly. There was nothing extra for 200 levels making buying 200 DLH not any cheaper than 150 was per point at all. If it was $5 more off total at the 200 level like it calculates many times we would have bought 200 more there vs 150.

They really should offer better incentives at the 200 level especially since 150 doesnt go far anymore at these new resorts.

There are a lot of people including myself interested in 200 but the incentives being the same just isnt moving us. Im just guessing, but judging by my guide's lackluster response to me considering 200 if incentives are better this round, im going to guess that they will be worse

With as strong as DLH incentives were and with the $3.00 base price increase, you might get to about the same level if they do say $1000 Disney credit card or castaway club offer vs D23. Poly going up $8.00 they will probably not do much more at least at the 100 and 150 levels in my opinion. They like to raise prices this time of year and then sometimes give the best prices of the year in the following or one after that period. I know that May-August periods tend to have the largest discounts but the higher base prices can make it where it may or may not be cheaper. The welcome home weeks last year were pretty good. Still kicking myself for passing on buying 500 sleep around points at OKW during the fire sale after not buying Grand Flo at 161 during its fire sale. We would like to have a few more direct points still but already have too much invested and have to sell to be buying anything else for now as just too many points to have time to use, lol.

I’ve been looking at 7 month VDH availability and am very grateful I chose VDH over Poly. While I won’t always go to California, I think having an 11 month window there is very important if you want to go even now and then for a longer trip than 5 days.
This was my main reason for choosing VDH over Poly too. That 11 month priority, especially for rooms with balconies, is already looking like a must for VDH. With Poly, it’s not a big deal to me if I can’t get in at the 7 month mark since there are so many other options I love at WDW. I can always buy Poly on resale if I decide it’s important to me.

The good news is at least they send you a text so you dont have to wait around there. The outside tables were free for anyone to go up to, theres so many id be surprised if there was a wait. Not sure about shade

Considering im using 317 points at vdh this year and wishing I had more, I really think 200 is the way to go for me unfortunately 😅

I have also been contemplating if I should just go for 200 points, since I can’t use my resale contracts to fill in any extra points I may need on bigger trips. But yeah the incentives are not enough to compel me in making the 200 jump today.
