VDH Questions for Purchasing

Ok, I just got caught up on like 10 pages. lol

1st. I agree 3x50 is the way to go (i definitely would)

2nd. What is a slider?? Do they help keep your Magicband from falling off? If so, I need one badly, I lost one of my bands very early in the day on RockinRoller Coaster, they did end up finding it and mailed it back to my house a week after the trip, so i had to buy another for the rest of my trip.

Also, just wanted to add, this thread has got me thinking about adding like 55 Direct VDH. lol
Yes im going to do the three way split we calculated the closing costs to be $1085, im cool with it.

Its funny because my magic bands have never fallen off i didnt know what a slider was either before @VGCgroupie told me. You got lucky they found it i lost a pair of expensive sunglasses at vgc and a hat on Grizzly river run, I know who wears a hat on that lol and im sure someone walked out of there with some really nice glasses.

My wife found a bracelet full of Pandora charms on the floor at animal kingdom and we turned it in im sure that person was very happy, seemed like they'd been collecting for a while!

Why adding 55 haha. Would that be your first direct purchase?

After we stayed at riv my cousin left a bunch of clothes in the washing machine and housekeeping mailed it all back without us even filling out a lost and found i was very impressed

I’m glad I’m not the only one!!

Ok. This has been a great thread. Pretty sure I’m going to get some points at VDH after this. Thanks everyone! Also, my wife and I met at Disneyland. Just had our one year anniversary! Been together 7 years.
Congratulations! How many points? I am so surprised to see how positive this thread has been. Not one person has popped in telling me what an ugly tower vdh is, how its not worth it because of this or that, or lecturing me if you're financing you really shouldn't be buying anything with a chart and calculations as if everyone has $30,000 lying around or else them and their family dont deserve to go.

I wish all threads were like this. Im going to die one day I dont care if i have to pay an extra $3000 in interest than others to have all these memories of member cruises, MM, and special member events with summers and holidays at DLH for the rest of my life. And not have to deal with renting is more than worth it to me as well!

No way I can compete with your drawer full of bribes goodies
Bribes for what, as of Monday im going to be direct, i dont need any of yall anymore and im still gracing you with my presence. Peace outttt lollll ✌️ And im still giving her the stuff im collecting because im SUCH a good friend (mean girls quote 🤣)

Together 23 years married 12. Im oldddd

I bet you aren't old. Because my husband and I have been together for 23 years and I'm super young! 🤣

I had a very quick basic conversation mid-December with the guide on duty at Golden Vine (or whatever it's called) and scheduled a VDH tour for two days later. Then we did the tour and the guide said we had 5 more days to decide because of the 7 day incentive pricing. I challenged that and said I knew the incentives are scheduled to change Feb 10 and he was all "sorry, it's 7 days and it started the first day we talked." Well, I wasn't ready to decide so off we left with our swag and such.

Then almost 4 weeks later, I emailed him and said what I wanted to purchase... and SURPRISE... there were NO problems with that. No "tour" needed and he didn't scold me for waiting past 7 days. He was just all happy and got me exactly what I asked for. I realize that if they stopped that incentive, I'd be out of luck, but the incentives were still going so all was fine.

I wouldn't let your guide pressure you into the 7 days thing, but just know that if they yank the incentives then on day 8 you get what you get.

Yeah, this is pretty much what I figured. We talked to a guide in mid-December and then decided to switch and have him be our new guide. He just left me a voicemail the other day with a banking reminder and also said something like "I know you were thinking about buying 150 points direct, I just wanted to remind you there is a price increase in February." And then he said if wanted to hear about the current incentives to just let him know.

Ok if anyone is curious here is the cost of the vdh split with a 100/50 split and just 50 points for this incentive period of 7 days as she likes to say 🤣.

The last line she wrote threw me off a bit. I wish she would have broken down the 50/50/50 split. So its absolutely clear to me if anyone wants to do it so I know how much im paying exactly id really appreciate it. It was confusing to me because if I just multiply the bottom by 3, that it is not factoring in all of the incentives im entitled to.

The way she split the incentives is weird to me. I am entitled to $5,450 of incentives for this purchase so id like to see that spread across all the points ugh. As I understand it it doesnt matter as long as it adds up to $31,300 with closing costs but id like to see accurately what my 20% down payment will be for each contract so im not thrown off guard:

100-point contract:
Purchase Price: $24,500
Incentive value: $4,300
Closing Costs: $124.95
Document Preparation fee: $250
Offer price: $20,574.95
20% $4,114.99

50-point contract:
Purchase Price: $11,461.75
Incentive Value: $1,150
Closing Costs: $111.75
Document Preparation Fee: $250
Offer Price: $11,461.75
20% $2,292.35

If you split 150 points into three 50-point contacts it would be the above estimate times three, she said. Doesn't make sense to me. I am pleasantly surprised by how low the closing costs are further justifying my decision of the three way split.

I think you've heard all about them 😆
