VDH Points Chart is Live!

DVC has lost the plot....what it the world could have compelled them to take the time, effort (and create the additional complexity/confusion) to bifurcate [Jun 1 - Aug 15] and [Mar 15 - Mar 23; Apr 1 - Apr 30] - the points differences are absurdly miniscule.

I am also very sad they've moved the week BEFORE Christmas into the highest points period.
It also correlates that the inspire key is not available starting the 20th so it would make sense that it would be in the highest point category

Hardly. It was over 100° exactly two days during that period in 2022 and zero days during that period in 2021 and 2020. The average is 85° and humidity that doesn't even approach Florida.
The hottest time of the year here in Orange County is absolutely from the first or second week of August through the middle of September. It has been getting progressively warmer over the last dozen years as well. Perhaps 100 is a slight exaggeration, but mid to high 90's absolutely isn't. Never said there was any humidity here, or bugs. Or hurricanes.

The point being, that the period discussed is by far the least enjoyable time of year to be here, regardless of how exponentially worse it might be in Florida (the weather here is always better than somewhere else).

The mf will hopefully be considerably lower than grand Californian with the tax and potential parking paid separately. I love having my Aulani points transient tax separated. Only pay if used. We always have a rental car at Aulani so appreciate the inclusion there. Never have a rental car at Disneyland so happy to not have parking wrapped into mf. Point chart came in right where I figured it would. Now the mf will be the only determining factor as to how many points we can afford.

It’s matching our AP holiday blockouts. Top pass is blocked through 1/2 and the next level down is blocked through 1/6 with I think access on 1/4 and maybe 1/5.
Interesting. The Spring Break category for St. Pat's, March 15 lines up with the Pirate Pass blackout, which is FL spring break also.

Was the room tax requested by the City in order to approve a new timeshare? This building wasn't allowed under the old rules, they had to grant an exception.

Anyway, the point chart is not terrible. Let the speculation begin: how difficult will it be at 7 months and which categories will remain available?

The city never took up the exception. The zoning committee approved the needed variance with no objections and only a couple minor requests to change their reporting schedules. The city council had the right to overrule the zoning board but chose not to look at it or discuss it at all.

Which shows you how different the city council is than it was 6-8 years ago.

VGC has the same tax it’s just baked into dues instead of broken out.

They have the tax at VGC too. It’s just included with the Annual dues. It’s actually better that you pay separately like you do at Aulani. Especially if you rent out your points. It passes on the tax to those actually staying in the room. I don’t fault Disney for the taxes. The city of Anaheim and state of Hawaii is to blame.

Thanks for clarifying everyone! I feel less angry now lol

Mid to high 90’s. That is Florida for 5-6 months out of the year at WDW.

i'm a local but enjoy our short DL resort stays, we go to the park early, take a midday break, then go back at night. on a day in the 90s or 100s we'll spend a few hours at the pool
