VB in the Fall...

I am considering VB for a Sept or Oct trip. We really enjoy places when the crowds are low but the activities are still available, so I have a few questions:
1. Is a week too long in VB? We are coming from Salt Lake City so we want to maximize our time.
2. Will the ocean be warm enough to swim? I checked the air temps and they looked fine.
3. Anything else to know about fall time there (other than hurricane risk?)

A week is not too long. We typically do 5 days, but that is just maximize our points by avoiding Fri & Sat.

We were there for a week in Oct and the weather was great. There are lots of kid's activities and the weather was fantastic. Best CMs I've ever encountered are at this resort. This is my kids' favorite resort.

We also did a trip to MK for MNSSHP. We got free parking and we could charge to our room key at MK.

We've been in early October and thought it was a great time of year to go. The weather was great, ocean temp. was fine, resort wasn't too crowded. Other than the worry of possible hurricanes - it is a great time of year to go. We've never stayed a full week, but that is because of our schedule - not because we didn't want to stay that long. Our fall break trip is always a trip to rest and rejuvenate, so we don't get bored - we hope to be so relaxed that we're bored!!!

We went to VB in during the first week in Nov. The weather was beautiful, a bit breezy. The kids loved the pool and the beach. My son went out kayaking one day for 4 hours, the kids had a great time in the cooking class and the whole family had a great time relaxing. Each time we go, we want to stay longer.

Thank you everyone, it sounds great. If we do a beach vacation, I want to make sure my dds can actually get in the water a bit, otherwise I'll let them just play in the sand at OKW .

We've been to VB a few times and just love it there. A few years ago we went at the end of October and it was just HOT, HOT, HOT and very humid too. We weren't prepared for that kind of weather at all. We still had a great time and the water was still warm enough for us. The resort was not crowded at all. I agree w/ the PP about the CMs being just the absolute best!
