VB Grills

We will be at VB Thanksgiving week. Last time down the grills were in poor shape and very difficult to get to. Does anyone know if they are better now? Also can we use a small grill on our balcony of a studio. Never stayed in a studio only inn rooms.

When I was at VB this spring the grills were across the road. I didn't use them so I don't know what shape they were in.

As for grilling on your porch, I'm not sure that is allowed due to the fire hazard. If you have an Inn room it would be tough to hide the grill (or the smell) too. George Forman grills are the only ones I know people have used in their rooms but those don't give you that nice BBQ taste.

They will not let you grill on the balcony due to fire codes. I've recounted this story a couple of times on the board but it fits here.

In the early days of VB there were no grills but we didn't know that. I put in a request to be near the grills and they said ok. Once we got very close, we were then told there were no grills. We'd already bougth steaks for 9 people for 2 meals (ribeye and NY strip). They offered to pick them up, cook them and return them. I declined as timing is everything. They ended up treating us to lunch. During the discussions, we talked about a small grill and they said that was not possible.

Last time we were there they were across the street and not easy to get to. I wish they were closer. We were there last May.

Aren't there also some grills in the public park just north of the resort?

Grilling on the balcony would seem a very bad plan, I'm glad it's prohibited. Perhaps using one's car to drive to the grills across the road would be the way to go. It is a pretty long walk.

We attempted to use the grills across the street 2 years ago. They were very difficult to get to and in poor shape. We ended up going to W-mart and buying one. Looks like we will be doing that again. As for the balcony I agree with the danger, I just wasn't aware of the config. of the balconies.
