We are heading down to VB for spring break week, 10 days away!!:cool1: My question is: Should I do the "early check in " process? We've never been to VB and I may have a few questions about the resort when I get there. (I guess I could ask at the conceirge after check in.) Other factors: We will be arriving well before check in time and we have two Inn rooms booked and need them to try to put the two rooms next to each other (which I requested at the time of reservations), so I'm wondering if I should check in with a real person. Any thoughts?

If by "early checkin" you mean On Line check in ??? -- sure, why not do it.
As to if you should checking in with "a real person" -- I wouldn't recommend any other kind! :rotfl:
When you get to the resort, simply go to the front desk "check in" so that you can get your KTTW cards for charging and pool/beach access and enjoy the resort until your rooms are ready. It's a fantastic place and I'm sure you'll have a great time!!

HTH

Do NOT do the online checkin. There are several threads with people having bad results. If you use online checkin, any preferences you made are deleted! Make sure you checkin while there with a CM. You'll have much better luck from what I've read.

Have a great time! I wouldn't do the on line checkin either. Did you request that the rooms be connecting? VB is one place that they have internal connecting inn rooms, we've had them.

Bobbi:goodvibes

PS. We're right by you, in Washington Township, OH!

Hey Bobbi, We are actually in Washington Township too! Yes I did request it when I reserved, although on my paper confirmation, it doesn't say that. (sigh)

Thanks so much for the replies. I think I'll just wait until I get down there.
We are almost in the single digit countdown!:yay:

If I was requesting connnecting rooms, I would probably not do online check in. Hope you get your requests! We'll be at Vero in 2 weeks and I won't be attempting online checkin.

Well I already did the online check in for our stay at VB Mar 22-Mar 27 and AKV Mar 27-28

Our only request was for an Ocean facing Inn room and for AKL we're in a Value Studio so I didn't have any requests and when doing the online checkin I just requested the offered option to be close to transportation.

I think I'll call the VB front desk and remind them of the Ocean facing request, I'll report back if we have any issues.

Peace,
G4L

Just off the phone with the resort, our Ocean Facing room request is still on our reservation.

Good, because the resort is so small that proximity to transportation is a non issue. AND, I think being closer to transportation could put you on one of the ends of the Inn that physically puts you further West and technically closer to the transportation (not in reality though). Tell them to drop that proximity to transportation request.

That said... we have had great success in obtaining our rooms early at VB. Especially in off-season. So go for it. The earlier you get there the better your chances of getting the OCEAN FACING room.

Good Luck. Hope you have a great time at VB :thumbsup2

OVIR (Ocean View Inn Room) is a booking category, although some of the OVIR rooms don't have a great ocean view. I'd call again and make sure that your request is for an OVIR with a good ocean view, on one of the higher floors.

Rob,

I think you may have confused my request to be close for transportation. That request is for AKV, it came up as the only option when I did the online checkin for our AKV stay (one night, value studio)

Backyardponder,
We have an OVIR booked, and I requested ocean facing, I think when I made the orignal reservation I also asked for a higher floor.

I'm not too concerned, Our flight lands into MCO at around 11:30, so we should be at the resort by 2, we'll get what we get*, and I'll post an update afterwards.

*Reminderof modified personal disclaimer: requests are not guaranteed, and you should be thankful that you're getting a good healthy portion of sun, water, sand, and palm trees, now go enjoy your vacation!!

Peace,

Hello all,

It's Tuesday morning, gotta do a couple hours of work :( but I thought I'd post a reply regarding check in and first couple days here at beautiful VB

Arrived around 2:00 pm on Sunday, walked right up, they had our online check-in info ready and handed us our keys and welcome home packet, our room was ready, we're in 2410, 4th floor, full ocean view room. Love the resort and room location.

Drove into town VB to stock up on water, snacks, sammich stuff, etc.
On the way back stopped in at Nino's, great quick Italian restaurant. Got Calzones and Strombolis to go. Highly recommended.

Weather is windy, partly cloudy, hot when the sun's out. Plenty of man-o-war, got a slight sting from a dead tentacle that blew around my calf. Not too bad, but would hate to get a full live sting.

Did the Intro to Wine class last night. Was a lot of fun, got to keep our Mickey wine glasses.
Ate at Green Cabin Room after the wine tasting, food was very good.

Nature walk this AM, cool, breezy, few showers, will head back into town to explore the shops a bit after AM work, then full relaxing for the rest of the trip. Easy to do here at VB.

Take care, peace
G4L
