I am a DVC member with AKV as my home resort. I have booked 9 days at AKV for this coming March break with the hope of getting 4 days at VB then back to AKV for my last night so we can take advantage of the Magical Express.
I have enough points to book my 4 nights at VB and would like educated opinions on reservation availability for a 1 bdrm for the nights of Mar 15-18 (all weeknights) at the 7 month window. We stayed at VB last month on the same dates - was I lucky to get that reservation at the 7 month window or is that typical? It is a small DVC resort afterall. Based on opinions I receive I may rent someone's points to book at their 11 month window, but it would be nice to use my own points. Thanks for taking the time to read my post.

I think that if you book 7 months out you will be fine. My Spring break is the week after yours, and before we owned at VB, I was always able to get an OVIR for the week with other points.

Nothing is guaranteed, but my feeling is that you'll be OK.

This past March break we were able to book a beach cottage at Vero beach, I called right at the 7 month window. I was surprised we got it. The MS lady was kind of funny, she thought we were crazy to book a beach vacation in March. The weather was great and the ocean was pretty warm. I think if there was availability for a cottage, then you shouldn't have a problem getting a 1 bdrm.

Thanks for your encouraging input folks. I think I'll wait til the 7 month window and try my luck.

I think April, May, and June are the peak months.... outside of those months you have a pretty easy booking. :beach:
