I am currently staying in a 1 bdrm villa at Vero Beach. It is newly furnished with flat screen tv's, new microwave and range, sofa and chair, blinds, etc. The sofa is a queen sized pull-out and the matching chair is also a pull-out twin bed. There are sheets provided for both pull-outs in the closet.

When I bought DVC last year (from Disney) my selling agent told me that AKV and SSR were the only resorts where you could sleep 5 people. All resorts provided a play-yard for kids under 3 but when the kid gets past 3 yrs old you needed a 2 bdrm. We asked about this because we have 2 kids and a newborn. So, why the pull-out twin bed in our room. Can we have 5 adults in a 1 bdrm at VB. Thought I'd ask this question here instead of the front desk. Thanks.

My understanding: Most resorts do NOT have the chair that is a pull-out bed, thus 4 people + 1 toddler in a 1 bedroom. Villas with the chair are 5 + 1, so I would have thought so at Vero; might be a local zoning law type thing based on the square footage or privacy considerations of the room? :confused3

That is great news! We are now a family of 5 and owners at VB - This would almost make me forgive the point reallocation:)

Can you post pictures??

Sounds like they may be moving towards putting in sleeper chairs when they refurbish.....I think I like the idea!

the new AKV GV has a 12 person limit and they have an extra sleeper sofa on the second floor. The place could sleep 14 that way but they say the extra sleeper is for flexibility. I agree that we've never been able to sleep 12 in a GV because I wouldn't ask two couples to share a bedroom for multiple nights. VB may be doing the same thing. It let's people spread out

Its kinda one of those unwritten rules...yes you can book 5 in any 1 bedroom DVC resort. MS will take all the names on the ressie, they just will not provide sheets/blankets for the 5th person. Now, if you have a sleeper chair in the unit that has sheets, they should replace them at housekeeping along with all of the other sheets in the unit!! Yeah...great news!!

Could you please take some pictures? It sounds great! I wonder if they updates the Inn rooms also.....

I don't have the ability to upload pics to my laptop but I will be returning home this Sunday and can get some up shortly after that. My digicam bit the dust yesterday, literally, full of sand from the beach and lens mechanism not working now. But my kids have cameras and I will take pics with theirs.

I will ask at front desk to see what they say regarding 5 adults to a room. It is a nice sized chair comfortable enough for an adult but not the most comfortable of mattresses, it is a pullout afterall, but my kids aren't complaining.

My guess is that since this thread discusses room occupancy it will be merged in with a master thread that has about 10,000 posts. Such a thread is, of course, completely useless.

This is an important issue, and people who need information about Vero Beach shouldn't have to read thousands of posts about other resorts where the rules might be different.

The rules concerning room occupancy have changed dramatically over the past couple of years, with different resorts having different rules. Might I suggest it is time to allow people to discuss this outside of the 10,000-post behemoth thread?

Yes I agree...this is very new "news" that VB 1 bedroom now has a sleeping chair in it. This should be allowed to continue as a single thread, as we may now be witnessing some changes to occupancy. I wonder why nothing has come out from DVC?

Just home from a studio at VB today. It had been rehabbed with new carpet, drapes, bedspread, sofa and flat screen TV. Also wireless is in "testing" stages throughout the resort. We were able to get online sporadically in our room in building 14.

Just to update what I said above RE 5 adults to a 1 bdrm, I did ask a cast member at the front desk and he said 'You must have one of the sleeper chairs in your room - Technically we allow 4 adults but 5 is ok'. I didn't ask any other cast members just the one. I don't know if all 1 bdrms have the sleeper chair.
