Has anyone used the baby bassinets on VAustralia before? I have booked one for our trip there and back and it is confirmed on our tickets. But I took baby girl to be weighed and measured at the health clinic today, and while she is very much under the weight limit she is slightly over the length VAustralia has on their website. The website says the bassinet length is 74.8cm and baby girl measured 75cm today, not a whole lot of difference but I don't want her squished or hanging over

hi snickals..

while we haven't used one as we have yet to be blessed with children, i did notice a few in use on our recent flight and they seemed to be quite roomy...

i know when my friend's babies and my nephew were measured, they measure from head to toe, and stretch baby out... but if your bub is anything like my gorgeous little nephew, they don't actually lie all stretched out and usually curl their legs up into their body most of the time...

*fingers crossed for you* that you will have a safe and enjoyable and comfortable vacation ..

:thumbsup2 Exactly what I was going to say.

I think the only time my DS lay completely stretched out was when throwing a tantrum :rotfl:

But I think you will find that she fit's in there quite snuggly. My DS always loved being snuggled up in the plane bassinets and slept well (but I haven't see the VAustralia ones so can't comment on them specifically)

That is a great point! Thank you! I think it's just the nerves kicking in as we get so much closer, I'm starting to have little freak outs about the smallest of things lol

:stir:

just cram her in, it will still be the most comfortable she'll ever be in economy for the rest of her life:hyper:

april/may seem to be my freak out months... the closer to the time we get, it's not so bad, but around that 6 month out mark, i turn into a raving lunatic...

you'll be great & have an awesome family experience

Baby girl should be fine. We took DS at 9 months of age. I dragged out his baby book - at 6 months he was 74 cm long, and at 12 months he was 80cm long. It was a tight fit but we squished him in. The sides of the bassinet are made from fabric, so it extends a little longer than the actual frame.

We flew to Disney yesterday YAY and baby girl was a perfect fit for the bassinet! She was much more comfortable in that than on the very squishy delta flight to orlando with her on my lap holding on to her for dear life lol Thankfully she slept all the way on that one.

We arrived at the resort and the CM at the counter greeted us with a princess figurine boxset and said "Mickey wanted you to have this" and handed it to baby girl! That was so sweet of her! Felt the Disney magic straight away :thumbsup2
