Variations in food flavors by continent?

Just a curiosity question for DCL cruisers who have done both European- and American-based cruises. After watching some Mighty Cruise Ship re-runs, DW and I are wondering whether the differences in food suppliers at the various ports affects the ship food flavors? I don't mean changes in menu offerings but food taste in general. Yeah, I guess a carrot tastes like a carrot anywhere but I do know a lot of produce and dairy (or even meat) does end up with different tastes based on where something is grown or what was fed to an animal.

All that said, has anyone who has had experience with both types of cruises noticed any real difference? Just thinking out loud here.

We’ve done the fjords and the UK cruises (when it was a 12-nights cruise), plus more than 10 Caribbean DCL cruises. We haven’t seen any difference in the food quality or taste. The only two differences I can think of is that fresh products - milk, butter, yogurt- in the buffet are from European suppliers and that they add some locally inspired items on the MDR menus. The rest of the food is always the same.

When we did the Baltic sea cruise, we noticed a couple different supply items. They had donut peaches...which I had never seen before in the US, and they had yummy sugar cones at the ice cream stand vs the flat bottomed cake/water cones on our Alaska cruise. Didn't notice flavor differences in menu items though...but we only cruise every 2 yrs...and it was our 2nd cruise... so don't have much to compare it to.
