Vanity Question

Chalk this question up to my vanity...

We are sailing on our 3rd DCL cruise on the 12/27 Eastern Magic. Usually before cruise or vacation I treat myselft to a manicure and pedicure, but because we are flying very early on 12/26 and ChristmasEve/Christmas day are right before the cruise I probably won't be able to get this done where it would last through the cruise.

My question is - can anyone recommend a salon/spa in the port area where I could get a good manicure/pedicure before the cruise?? Our flight arrive early enough that we will be at the Radisson by noon on Friday, so I could do something in the afternoon.

I've had both manicure and pedicure on the ship and found them to be very expensive and not nearly as good. I thought maybe someone would be able to refer me to a place in port.

It's not vanity, I totally understand.

You might want to call the Radisson and see if they can recommend a local salon; often hotels have places to which they can refer you.

Last December on the way to the port I broke a nail. I was so upset as I had a PERFECT french manicure. I told my husband that we were NOT getting on that ship until my nail was fixed. We were going to stop anyhow to get some Amareto in the little shopping area right before the port and there is a nail salon in there. The woman was GREAT very reasonable and professional. I don't recal the name of it but if you go to Dave's website he says where the last shopping stop is before you get to the port and her salon is in there. That isn't vanity - it is standard operating procedure!

This year I booked mother-daughter appointments for me and DD. Figured now she is 13 this would be a great way to start our vacation. The salon we use has side by side stations. And she has stopped biting her nails in anticipation!

I went on to the Radisson website and was able to - via their yellow pages - find about 10 beauty salons close by. Now, the trick is seeing which one is fairly decent.

I think I will e-mail Shirley to get her recommendation.

I still have lots of time, but I never plan too far in advance for my vacations!!
