Not as funny but still one to avoid...
A dozen years ago, when IL made vanity plates optional, the state raffled off the right to have CHICAGO on your plates. A guy from the city won, and proudly has CHICAGO on his car.
The proplem is that souvineer shops all over the city sell fake decorative license plates that also say CHICAGO, and for some weird reason, people really put these fake plastic ones on their cars. Then these same idiots park illegally (very easy to do in Chicago, but that's another thread) and the meter maids write the ticket to the CHICAGO plate.
So this poor guy now gets hundreds of tickets every month for tickets he didn't earn from cars he doesn't own or drive. He goes to city hall once a month to contest all of them, and only gets off if he can prove he was some where else when the ticket was writen. He puts up with it for the principle of the thing, I guess.
