Vanishing Threads

I've noticed over the time I've been on the DIS that several of the threads I've started, and threads I've posted in, have vanished. These are not threads that, at least as far as I'm aware, are in violation of any policies or otherwise problematic. Is there a reason for this? Thanks for any insight...
