Vancouver restaurant recommendations

De Dutch Pannekoek House are nice restaurants for the family. Last time I was in town I had a Pannekoek done eggs Benedict style before I hiked around Stanley Park. Good memories.

Post cruise, we stayed in Vancouver for a few days and fell in love with Granville Island. Terra Breads, which is listed on the Top Places list has the best breads and pastries. We would go there for breakfast and grab a coffee from the coffee shop across the way and also grab a bread loaf from them for a picnic later in the day. We also got different italian meats from a deli within the market for our picnic basket lunch. We would usually then have lunch in Stanley Park. There is also a burger shop (The Market Grill) with great food and great prices. We did not like Gastown at all. It is such a shame because it is so close to the port and it was dirty, full of aggressive pan handlers and over priced souvenir shops.

Definitely check out Granville Island and Stanley Park! We had dinner on Mother's Day at the Tea Room at Stanley Park at sunset and it was phenomenal.

The Fish Shack and Johnnie Fox's Irish Snug are both teriffic! They are located on family-friendly Granville Street just south of Nelson St. Mean Poutine is near there. As the name implies it has mean poutine. In fact, there are several family-friendly restaurants on Granville.

White Spot is pretty family-friendly, and they're everywhere.
If you've got some time Downtown, or if you see one of their trucks, Japadog is fun and kid-friendly.

We really enjoyed Rogue right across the street from the Pan Pacific. I was a bit skeptical but was more than pleasantly surprised. DS wanted to go back the next night!

We loved De Dutch Pannekoek for breakfast before starting our cruise. Japadog was also a hit, but beware the "Brick and mortar" location on Robson is little more than a hotdog stand in a closet. Very tight seating on backless stools (which might be a problem for some people).
