We will be sailing out of Vancouver on the one way to San Diego in March. We have never stayed in Vancouver and were wondering which hotel to book. We are between the Pan Pacific at the Cruise Terminal or the Fairmont Waterfront. The price is about the same so price is not a deciding factor. Wondering which is the one most people prefer.

If price is about the same, Pan Pacific all the way. Staff is stellar, location cannot be beat, food is good, rooms are great, gym is awesome (for a hotel) and the lobby design is more impressive. But the thing that pushes it over the top is that you can have your luggage transferred to your cruise ship from your room.

I don't dislike the Fairmont Waterfront, but I've stayed in both, and I'd choose the Pan Pacific every time if prices are comparable.

We stayed at the Fairmont Waterfront for our 2022 Alaskan Cruise, and we would stay there again in a heartbeat. Price for us was less than staying at the Pan Pacific, the room and view were great, and it is literally right across the street from the terminal, they took our baggage to the terminal for us and then we just walked across the street.

We'll be on the same cruise. I just booked 2 nights at the Pan Pacific. In the past we have stayed at the Fairmont Vancouver. We've always had a good experience with the Fairmont hotels. We just decided to try something different. The Pan Pacific was just over $100 more for 2 nights.

I’m on that cruise too. Staying at the pan pacific. Found a great deal on Hotwire. Check out room revealer or better bidding to find the deal.

We stayed at the Pan Pacific in July. It was a nice big room. The decor was a little outdated but in good shape. I actually liked the decor, but others may dislike it. There were some areas in the bathroom that were not getting dusted/cleaned. It was primarily some shelving and out of the way areas. The sink, counter, tub, and toilet were all clean. One of the elevators going down to the port was out, so the line was sometimes long, especially with luggage. The elevators to the rooms were fine but still sometimes slow.

We stayed at the Fairmont pacific rim. It’s another block down the street. About the same price I think but we had the best service I have ever had at a hotel.
I agree with this. The rooms and service is the best. Justin Trudeau was there when we were-that was something. The beds- queen size. That sealed the deal for me. Beautiful place to stay and we rolled our suitcases to the ship.

I cant profess to be a Vancouver afficionado, except that is to say i thoroughly recommend the donut place at Granville island and also the Fairmont waterfront as a pre cruise hotel.

Stayed at Pan Pacific (got a good deal). It was a lovely hotel. Somewhat sterile decor. The lobby with its marble floor and high ceiling said luxury. My room had a view toward Stanley Park - I could see float planes.

We enjoyed the warm pool outside (maybe it was a hot tub) on a cool October night - very nice touch.

Biggest draw (to me) is location. It is just over the entrance to cruise check-in. An insignificant walk. I think you could do it without getting wet. Not even across a street,

Gastown, shopping, restaurants are all within walking distance (so many things are from lots of hotels in Vancouver).

My other stay involved the YWCA. Great for those with a smaller budget - especially if needing multiple beds. Would recommend.

Go with whichever appeals to you - find something insignificant that grabs your interest - bathroom, amenities, bed size … and try the other hotel next time.

And two beds at Pacific Rim means doubles.

Fairmonts often have Le Labo Rose 31 bath products. That could sway me. I love the mild rose scent. I checked into buying some online. Ouch. Better deal to just ask for extra while staying there.

We really enjoyed staying at the pan pacific before and after our cruise. It was pretty fun (and a little sad) to be able to watch the Wonder sail away from our room that evening after getting off the ship.

Stayed a few nights before our cruise and thought our room looked dated. Other than that rest
of hotel was ok and of course location is fantastic.

we stayed closer to the airport - first time at the Westin Wall Centre - and this year at the Fairmont Airport - we were nervous about flying in from the east coast and being too tired to get to the city - and it was cheaper - and so nice - while the hotel dining was odd - having the food in the airport was great - the kids loved tim hortons - they had music in the lounge - and we were able to bring our food to the seating area & still hear the music - by next year i think everything will back to normal - and you can get the monorail / subway right from the airport - so easy to get to the city & the port

We have stayed at both. The pan pacific location can’t be beat but I preferred the waterfront overall. The room was nicer and the staff were superb. They brought free cookies and milk up to my daughter one night. The view was spectacular. Next time we cruise out of Vancouver I would definitely want to stay there again

We stayed at the Hyatt Regency and will stay there again. It's within walking distance to the port.

I just stayed at the Pinnacle Harborfront and it was great. we walked to the terminal from the hotel with our luggage and kids and saved a bundle over the overpriced Pan Pacific.

Everyone is right. You can't go wrong with either of them. After a few trips to Vancouver, I am partial to the Fairmonts. Our last stay was in the Pacific Rim, but that's mainly because we wanted a change from the others. It's up to you, but it is tough to pass up the convenience of the Pan Pacific. You can sleep in, eat a little something, and know it's almost impossible to miss the ship. Can't beat that.

The Pan Pacific all the way. Their Bell Services will take your bags to the cruise terminal for no extra charge, I just gave them the tip I would have to the porters. Loved the location, the view and the room.
