Van or Rental?

If you just bought a new car would you drive it on a long trip???
We tend to put a lot of miles on things and we are going to disney, was wondering if you would rent a vehicle to keep the miles off of it or just take it?

Shep, how long have you had the new car?

If you haven't had it long at all, I'd use the rental. I guess I hear too much about new cars with problems.
Once you know it's reliable, then I'd drive it on those long trips.

Then I'd take the van too. Why waste money on a rental if you don't have to.

Depends if you can get a super deal on a rental. Also, if you will not have many miles on it by when you leave, while still under a thousand or so miles, it is recommended to vary your speeds a bit, not just getting on the highway and setting cruise to whatever. Just a thought.

We bought our "new" 2002 van in February with our June WDW vacation in mind. The new van has captain's chairs in the middle row for our teenage kids. Take the new one. A couple (thousand) extra miles can't hurt.

In February we bought a new 2003 Honda CRV. Since it has more room than our 98 CRV we will take the new one on our August trip and rack up all those miles. Ive had it for 2 1/2 months and it has under 700 miles on it, but remember those have been winter/bad weather months.
