Value vs Moderate hotel and quick service dining vs table

I have two options for my trip to WWD. I can stay in a value hotel (all star pop) with a free quick service upcharge for around 1,000 for a 5 night stay, or I can stay in a moderate hotel (caribbean resort) with a free table service dining plan for 1,700 for a 5 night stay. I was wondering if the better hotel and meals are worth the $700, as it is quite a bit. thanks.

Where would you normally eat? Are you Table service or Counter service normally?

Check out the TS menus. And see what you might spend on the average meal for your family size (how many people are you talking about) Figure out if it's worth the $700 more.

only 2 people. I'd only be interested in table service maybe 2 days at most. I'm more interested in checking out the parks and don't want to be tied down.

If that's the case I would do the value with the free QS dining and just pay OOP for the 2 table service meals.

FWIW our last three trips we've had the free DDP and, for us, its way too much food. We always have leftover meals and snacks at the end of the week. For our upcoming trip we're not even getting a dining plan. We got a great room discount and we're going to just eat what we want when we want. We may do one or two TS meals and the rest CS.

OR - you can always stay value and then upgrade the DDP to regular. If it is for 2 adults for 5 nights I think it should be about 165.50. I would figure out where you would want to eat, how much it would cost and see if that would be better for you. I am pretty sure the extra TS credits you have you could use for QS, so you wouldn't have to eat TS restaurants the whole time. You could also use them for signature if you wanted to. =)

(I think that is what we are going to do - spending the extra money on moderate just isn't worth it to us. We enjoy the values just fine (our favorite is ASMusic)

Only 2 TS meals and you're more interested in the parks? Then there is no way that I would spend $100/night extra on a moderate room w/free dining if I was not going to to a daily TS meal. Maybe you should check room discount codes instead of free dining. They are usually a better deal for couples than the free dining offers.

ya, you're right. I ended up booking the value with free quick service dining. The total for the 2 of us isn't bad at all: $1,057 for 6 days/5 nights at value hotel, 5 day pass, and dining. I couldn't find any room discount codes. :sad1:
