since all of the value studios were once regular hotel rooms...is it safe to say that they are all dedicated studios:confused?

If not are any dedicated studios?

What floors are the value studios located?

btw does anyone have a copy of the room map that they could post, please???

No, there are also value 1 and 2 bedroom lock off units. I believe all units at Jambo are lock offs so all studios would be part of lock off units.

There is 10 lockoff studios and 8 dedicated studios. Here is a map http://www.parkinfo2go.com/dvc-akv/floor5.php. The value rooms are on the Ostrich and Giraffe trails.

I thought someone once mentioned there were a few Value? dedicated studios at AKV.

If you look at the more typical rooms (Stanard/Savannah view) you see that a studio was 1 hotel room, a 1br was 2 hotel rooms (one for Master bedrrom and the other is the kitchen/living) a 2BR was 3 hotel rooms, and a GV was 6? hotel rooms.
The difference between value rooms and the others is most of the 5th floor (DVC) overhangs the lower floors, so the normal 5th floor rooms have more length (about 3') the value rooms are in a smaller wing with no "overhang" so they retain the smaller length of the standard hotel rooms below.

I've stayed in 3 different value studios. Two of them were lock off and one was dedicated. There used to be a time when your confirmation would say whether it was going to be dedicated or lock-off, but I don't think they do that anymore.

Most of the hotel rooms used to create DVC villas were connecting rooms to begin with so they kept the same connecting doors in place when they did the conversion. In some cases they created a new connecting doorway, particularly for those rooms where the connecting doorway is in the living area now rather than the entryway.

As mentioned already, there are both dedicated and lockoff Value studios and the map posted by Disneycouple99 will show you exactly how many of each type there are.

All of the Value studios are in Jambo House and are on the 5th floor.

In my AKV-J notes from my last stay I have "request dedicated studio" listed, but now I don't know why. Besides connecting to another room, what is the difference between dedicated and not? Does dedicated have extra storage space???

Dedicated studios only face savannah or pool views, whereas the lockoff studios have a chance of facing a parking lot (2 of them).

Additionally, I think the area where the lock off door is normally located has a larger closet in the dedicated studios (I believe).

Thank you all for your answers...you have given me more information than I could have possibly asked for...in the morning I will call MS and request for a dedicated studio....not that I am looking for a prefered view but just that I prefer not to have to be connected to a room with a family on a different schedule than ours...when I made the reservation early on I requested a SV and the CM told me that there was no such request possible for a value studio...so I just let it go...although members here on the DiS told me that itwas definetely possible...I just didn't stress it...BUT I really will want a dedicated room I hope it's not to late for such a request....thanks all for the great answers...the generous info and the map....
..happy to here that they are all located on the fifth floor I always prefer to stay on a higher floor...

I just wished that when I called MS...the CM that answered the phone was able to be as informed as I am...
"maam there are no dedicated value studios...okay....hold on....I write the request in...but I am not sure...."
