Value/Standard point charts @ AKL

Thinking of renting points for a June trip next year. See both the value and standard listing under AKL. Is one Jambo and one Kidani? If I go two bedroom value does that mean I get Jambo room looking away from the savanah and if I go standard does that mean I get a Kidani room looking away from the savanah????? What is the difference?

The Values are only in Jambo House and are smaller in size than the others (Standard View & Savanna View). The Values were converted from standard hotel rooms where the other are converted Deluxe rooms.

Standard View exists in both Jambo House and Kidani Village. At Jambo House all of the Standard View are around the pool. At Kidani Village they can be pool view, parking lot view or garden view.

All of the 2-bedrooms in Jambo House are Lock-Offs. They will be made up of a 1-bedroom and a Studio with a connecting door between them. Kidani Village has both Lock-Offs and Dedicated 2-Bedrooms. The Dedicated 2-bedroom will have 2 queen beds in the second bedroom and no kitchenette.

Also, the 2-bedrooms in Jambo House have 2 bath rooms where the ones in Kidani Village have 3.

If you go with either the Standard or Savanna Views, which building you are in is confirmed at the time of booking. You will also check-in at the building you are staying in.

Another tidbit: if you go with one of the value category villas, your view is not guaranteed. You have a chance at either a Sunset Savannah view, pool view, or parking lot view (I think it's 40%/40%/20%, respectively).

On the bright side, all of the value category villas are on Ostrich or Giraffe trails in the main AKL building (Jambo House), so they're relatively close to the lobby, and you wouldn't have to deal with the never-ending hallways that I always read people complaining about at AKL

Another difference is that the Value 1BRs and 2BRs do not have a sleeper chair in the living area so the occupancy for those villas is 4/8 respectively instead of 5/9 for the non-Value 1BRs and 2BRs at AKV. There aren't very many Value rooms and they go quickly because they are such a great deal point-wise.

You can try but there have been a few reports recently that MS will no longer accept view requests for Value rooms.

I'm not sure if you can request, but I have read that it's probably useless, as they'll just assume that everyone in the value villas would prefer a savannah or pool view. I'd think it might help to request a pool view if you DIDN'T want a savannah view, though (but I'm not a DVC member and have no experience w/ MS, so they may not accept requests for the value villas at all, as the PP said).
