We stayed in a value studio at AKV last summer and loved it.. We had a great view of the Sunset Savannah . We stayed in the Ostrich Trail Section. We had 2 studios..My daughter and I luckily ended up with the savannah view and my husband and sons looked at a parking lot. Are all the value rooms in that 5100 section or are they throughout the 5th floor?

Thank you so much... When looking at the room map, how come the rooms facing parking lot are not color coded to specify if they are studios.. ect.

The four DVC rooms that face the parking lot are color coded: 5129, 5131, 5133 and 5135. The rooms in white are AKL hotel rooms, not DVC rooms.

5129 and 5135 are 1BRs, 5131 and 5133 are studios.

OOHHH thanks. Funny out of all the rooms.. last year we had 5133 and 5134. !! So 5133 and the other few in that hall are the only DVC value studios? THat is great to hear.. chances are low then.

The color-coded rooms shown on the map on both the Giraffe and Ostrich trails are Value rooms. So that includes all even-numbered rooms in the 50xx section and all even-numbered rooms in the 51xx section plus the four odd-numbered rooms at the end of the 51xx section. There are 18 Value studios in all (10 lockoff, 8 dedicated), plus 10 Value 1BR lockoffs.

yea getting a savannah view with a value studio is low.

stayed in value rooms 3 times and have always gotten the swimming pool view.

Yup, I'm another voice of experience staying in a value studio. In 7 stays I've gotten the pool view 6 of them. But boy, the one time I got the view of the Sunset Savannah was absolutely beautiful! It seemed a better savannah view than the one time I booked a Savannah view, although the fact that I was only paying value rates and still seeing the savannah may have made a difference.

As far as views go, 4 out of MY 5 value studio stays have had savannah views. For my 2 bedroom value stays, both have been pool views. In September I had a studio booked as well as the two bedroom, and that had a pool view as well.

I've 2 value studios booked for a stay in January. We'll see, one's for me and the other's for my friends!

How do they determine who gets what views.. As a AKV owner if I book my room 11mos out does that increase my chances of a Savanna view? Im guessing no. Last year we booked 2 value studios 4 mos out and were given a savanna view and a pool view but chose to move our pool view so we could be across the hall from eachother which is why we had a parking lot view.

I think that's the Million dollar question. From what I understand, you can't make view requests with a value studio. However, they let me make a request for a specific room number, a room I knew was a savannah view. But when I got there, I got....a pool view.

We just stayed in a value studio this past Sunday and Monday. Upon check-in, the CM asked if we wanted a room close to the lobby or farther away. I was a little shocked that the room had not already been assigned. So I took that as an opportunity to request a savanna view. I was told that since it was a value studio the only view was a pool view. Well, I knew that was wrong and I figured they just say that so unknowing people won't be disappointed. I then just requested close to lobby because I was just happy I didn't get parking lot view.
