Staying at the all star sports in upcoming trip, and have put in two room requests (one for touchdown hall, and the other for a king size bed)...was wondering how the value resorts were with trying to accomdate room requests? I know we will only get the king size if there are no travelers that need the room (i think i read king size bed rooms are for those with disabilities)....should i call or fax and confirm these room requests?

Not certain on the exact track record, but everything I have read says that:

* submit request by fax 4 days prior to arrival
* the nicer, more polite and accomidating your request is, the better
* Also know that if AS is like PC there are standards w/ kings that are not just for disabled.

Good luck and i hope you get your requests.

I have stayed at ASMovies and ASMusic - both times I requested a specific building (101 Dalmations/Broadway) and floor - and got them both times.

I would request what you want when making the reservation (have the res agent document your record with your requests) and then I would follow up with phone call or fax the week of your reservation.

I've been told that the only way to get a king bed is to reserve one (as the cost more than the 2 doubles). I'm sure it doesn't hurt to try for one, tho.

Good luck and have a great trip!

We stayed at movies and I requested several things ( buzz building, first floor, nearest to bus stop and food court) when I made the resevations. I was pleasantly surprise to get all three especially since we went during a busy holiday weekend.

We also asked for several things on our reservation: Non-smoking, Jazz building, 1st floor. I faxed a very polite request to them 4 days before, and received everything we asked for.....and a nice courtyard view as well!!!

I have to say that the AllStars have been better about my room requests than POR or the Polynesian. We had DU make note that we would like a non-smoking, third floor room in Jazz. And that's exactly what we got, also with a great courtyard view. And all this with the cheerleaders and families there. I figured it would be too full already to accomodate my requests. And I never had to ask at check-in, they just had it noted and gave it to me.

Thank you all for your responses...now have another question I thought of! How are they with checking in early? My BF and I are staying in Altamonte Springs (about 1/2 hr i think from DW), and want to spend the most possible time at Disney. This will be a Saturday that we are arriving on...has anyone checked in early before at the values?

You can check in almost any time. But your room may not be ready until 3 or 4 PM. But check in, get your room keys, tickets, etc. and head to the parks.

Yet another question I have come up with...how is the bus service at the value resorts? We are driving from philly, and will have our car and have booked through triple AAA so we have preferred parking passes. Should we drive or take the bus?

Only thing with the bus service at the All-Stars is that one bus serves all 3 hotels. During prime season, they get busy.

We were at Music from the 12-17. We found the bus system to be pretty good. Yes, there were a lot of people, but we never waited more than 15 minutes for a bus. While sometimes we did share with the other 2 resorts, there were times when we didn't. I would definatly plan on using the buses.
As far as checking in early goes...we arrived at about 11:00 a.m. I was sure that with all the cheerleaders/football players and their families there, we would have to wait until 4:00 to get into our room. But, we were able to get in right then and there!!! That may not always be the case tho. But, you can get your park passes and store your bags and be off to the parks. THen you can get your room key when you get back later on in the day.
