1st off, you are kind of comparing apples to oranges here.
Since you're talking about staying at either a value or a DVC - they are totally separate ends of the spectrum. If you stay at a value you'll get daily housekeeping
BUTyou also get a smaller room, smaller beds,no kitchenette (assuming you're comparing the value room to a DVC studio),no balcony. You also do not get waterslides or hot tubs at the pools,or a sit down resturaunt in the value resorts. You do not get room service or valet parking (not all DVC's get these like OKW, but some do). And none of the values are within walking distance to a park...some DVC's are and some are not but at value NONE are. Now, as far as the OP's question:
What I am not sure of if that would be better than booking a value or moderate?? The last time we stayed at the Yacht Club (and LOVED it!!)
Would you be better off than a value resort, IMO YES DEFINETLY! As the values won't have any of the extra ammenites except for daily housekeeping. As for better than a moderate, if your heart is set on YC for instance than it's a matter of how dissapointed will you be if you're at a moderate instead? If not, the moderates will have alot of the extra's like waterslides and hot tubs at the pools and sit down resturants. So you'd need to decide if that would work for you or not. If you definetly want to stay
deluxe though, rent the points as it's more affordable. Just make sure renting points is something you're comfortable with as there are trust issues involved on both ends as deb & bill mentioned. If you can find the right person to rent from though and you really want to stay deluxe, it's the most affordable option.
And as for the
no daily housekeeping issue when staying on points...there are pro's and con's to it. If you're in a 1bdrm villa or larger, you'll have a washer & dryer right in the villa. It's very easy to just throw the towels in the wash before leaving for a park in the morning and into the dryer when you get back and you don't have the maids banging on the door in the morning to get in to clean. Only downfall really is making the beds. If you're in a studio, no you don't have the w/d right in the room but they are throughout the resort and free of charge, you just need to bring detergent or get some in the gift shop. At OKW, the w/d's are by the pools and it's very convenient to throw the towels in while at the pool swimming

not so easy if at some of the DVC's like BCV's as they're on the 4th floor, but still free of charge. But if towels are your only issue you can also either purchase an extra towel pack for $6 ( costs less than a drink at the poolbar) or you can also pay for extra Trash-n-towel service which is less than the price of extra daily cleanings and gives you the fresh towels.
Anyway...just some things to think about
