I just skimmed through the thread about the moderate/deluxe beds which got me a little worried. Honestly, how are the value resort beds? I'm staying at All Star Sports in June for two weeks. Is there anyone that loved value resort beds? I would just like everyone's opinion, and warn me what I'm in for, if anything. I keep thinking of the post where someone said how comfortable the beds were at Wilderness Lodge. How I wish I was staying deluxe, though I am pretty psyched to stay at ASSP and just knowing I'm going to Disney World.

We had no problem with the beds at All Star Music last December. In fact, they WERE more comfortable than the WL beds we had the year before. :goodvibes

I longed to be staying at a deluxe also but DH and I really did like ASM. It was just the 2 of us so we had plenty room ... the rooms ARE smaller ... and the bath area was a little "tight" but for the price you really can't beat it. We had one issue with transportation and that was the bus for Disney Springs. We'd just missed one and ended up waiting almost 45 minutes for the next one. We also opted to wait for a "2nd bus" on some mornings instead of having to stand. But nothing to get angry about and we enjoyed our stay. Even got on the wrong bus one evening (after a REALLY long, tiring day at the parks ) but it was a very short walk from All Star Movies to All Star Music. I think you'll be pleasantly pleased with your choice. (And the food in the food court was excellent! :thumbsup2) :tink:

We have stayed at all levels from ASMu in a standard room to GF RPC. Although the beds are better in the deluxe resorts, we have been just fine on the doubles in the value resorts. They are a bit firm for my liking, but we both sleep well on them and have never called them uncomfortable.

All Star resorts are great value resorts. We have had a lot of fun staying at these when we are having a theme park intensive trip. Everything that you need is here. The buses are frequent and efficient, the food court is good and the rooms, though small, are fine.

Plus, you are visiting WDW and you are staying in a Disney Resort! That is so cool!

Enjoy ASSp!

I find the beds to be passable but not great - to me, the mattresses feel a bit like concrete and the pillows are too flat for my liking. But, I deal with it, knowing that if I'm booking a Value, it is because I'm spending my $ on other things like TS meals, ridiculously overpriced Mickey ice cream bars, and adult pool side beverages. And if I am feeling really exhausted, there have been times I have switched us into a deluxe for a night or two toward the end so I get some good sleep before our drive back home. The kids love it when this happens - they are pool fanatics so it works out well.

Most of our stays have been at Pop. I always found the beds to be comfortable.

Last October, we stayed at Beach Club and had to move over to Pop for a few days due to our flight being cancelled from the hurricane. That's when I realized how firm the Pop beds are. I thought I was sleeping on a board after staying at the BC!

It really depends on your taste. If you prefer to feel like you're sleeping on a rock (like my husband does), you'll love them. If not (like me), you won't. For me, the bed hardness is enough that I'll never stay at a value again.

Maybe it's the hardness of the beds that we didn't like the one night of our stay at Pop. But DS (13yo) and I cringe at the thought of staying at a value resort. We didn't have a comfortable night despite the fact that it was our traveling day and we were both tired. We were so glad when we moved over to the Yacht Club next day. I guess it's better than no WDW but we prefer Deluxe beds.

Full size vs Queen size.

Other than that you really can't judge for someone else how any bed will work. Even within our family we disagree with bed comfort levels.

I am a person who does not sleep well and the harder the bed the least likely I am to sleep. I don't love the beds at the values, but I am always able to sleep just fine. I think you just stay so tired you are able to sleep better than you normally would. Now my best sleep at Disney was CSR, but who knows with rehab what the beds will be.

Honestly the best beds I've had when I go to Disney are .............. offsite ;).

So true!! I agree!

The best beds that we have had at 'WDW' were at the Swan/Dolphin. Those are comfortable beds!

I've getting concerned about the same thing. We've only stayed deluxe or mod, except we have stayed a night at Pop (two times) when coming in late at night before moving on to another resort and it was hard and pillows were flat as PPs have said. We have a 4 night stay booked there in May. This will be a park heavy trip for us though since my 13 yr old cousin is coming along (she hasn't been to Disney since she was old enough to remember it) so I'm hoping we'll be so tired we'll pass right out!

I've stayed at all of the values and moderate resorts (not deluxes thou)....and i've never had an issue with mattresses at any of the resorts. All value resort beds have always been fine and quite comfy. The ONLY issue I had are with the pillows. You'll have a couple of different thicknesses with the pillows...just try them out to see which one suits you best. Oh, I have to say the pillows at the values/mods are quite small! Other than that, its totally fine. I love the AS Sports resort. One of my faves!
