Value resort and Deluxe Dining or Mod with Basic Dining?

Here's my thought.

I travel a lot and often attend events for work where you HAVE to eat "nice resturant" food two or three times a day.

By about day three you could take me to V & A and I would be BURNED OUT! It's no longer "special" it is just food.

The other thing is that Disney TS meals aren't fast. So that's probably three hours a day spent on "meals" (mininum) If you go when hours are shorter, that can seriously impact your park time.

IMHO there are much better places in America to "splurge" on food then at Disney. I have eaten at the "biggies" (Cali Grill, Le Cellier, V&A) and the only one that stands out years later as ABSOLUTELY worth it... V&A (and it's not on a meal plan LOL!) The others were nice, but I ate at an Italian Resturant in Birmingham recently that put them to shame, it was so good. So...... I don't do Disney for "dining". Food's good, don't get me wrong and I don't find the prices as horrid as others do, but it's not the "best ever"

see now for me it is not about the "food", but about not having to worry.

So now instead of having to budget money for refillable mugs, extra snacks and breakfast everyday it is covered.

Also things like Cinderella's Royal Table which we previously did not want to waste 2 TS credits for is much more of an option.

Plus we like to come home from Disney feeling like we've been on vacation and we will have an infant and toddler with us so sitting down for TS during the day is a nice break especially if there are characters to keep DD happy.

I'd pick value with deluxe dining for our family. We do at least one ts meal each day, some days we do two, and there were some last year that we didn't do because of budgeting. I think the deluxe ddp would work for us. If we were paying cash/no dining plan at all, our meal budget would be around $175 per day not including tips.

ITA:thumbsup2

The old plan covered MOST of our meals. I still had to budget for breakfast,(we like to have a hot breakfast while on vacation) mugs, and extra snacks.

Between the two, I'd also go with the Value Resort & Deluxe dining. Sure, I've eaten better food elsewhere than at WDW. Great food is an important part of our vacations, so we've have some truly magnificent meals. My thoughts on WDW dining are, "Why not get the best food possible, if you can afford to?"

With the Deluxe plan, we would eat a TS breakfast or an early lunch, then eat a late Signature dinner. We'd skip CS all together, which is preferable for our family. For us, it won't be too much food. We'll eat what we want & no more. I'm still amazed by the "too much food" complaints. When was the last time WDW forced you to eat something you didn't want? I can't remember that ever happening to us. :confused3 IMHO, that argument is just ridiculous.
